~30 people attending in Punta Cana DR

Budget just for ceremony, reception, resort & travel for us is ~$7500.

    Add our photog/videog and it’s $15K.

Our total budget for everything is $20K that includes:

    • 2 visits to DR (air & resort fees) 1 pre-planning trip, 1 trip for the actual wedding ($2500)

    • Mini Honeymoon for 3 days after wedding at a nearby resort ($720)

    • Beach ceremony & Reception ($2500)

    • Black SUVs & Drivers to transport my family from their home to airport. ($1000)

    • Wedding bands ($200)

    • Dress ($100)

    • Photog & Videog ($8K)

    • Passport & Boarding Pass DIY Invitations ($400)

    • DJ ($650) placeholder – we haven’t decided on this yet.

    • Ceremony singers ($500) – placeholder – we haven’t decided on this yet.

    • Reception Entertainment: Fire dancers & Stilt Walkers ($700)

    • Day before wedding dinner cruise & snorkeling for guests ($2500)

I must say it makes me so happy to list all that stuff and say we’re getting it for the same price as having an at home wedding with all my family. Basically, we would’ve blown it all in one evening but instead we’re spending over more than a weekend!

The cost that hurts the most is my splurge on photo/videography. I’m flying them down and there’s 4 of them, so the total cost incl their fees is ~ $8K. A huge chunk of our budget. We had originally planned a home wedding, but the cost was getting out of control and we felt we weren’t going to be happy with what we were getting. So, we canceled that, but we already had booked our photog/videog. So, we kept them. I just hope they are worth it!

I think it will be because so many people say the one thing they regret is not spending enough on these items. After all the planning and $$$ all you have left are the photgraphs and videos!

@Reign14:  Nope no charge for the ceremony at all because we had alot of people booked at the hotel. We only had to pay for extra decorations we wanted for the ceremony area. Check out my recap of our wedding to see 🙂

We did Mexico, not the Caribbean, but maybe it still helps?  For all resort related costs plus total trip cost for the man and me, it was about $12,000.  We had 63 guests and had a full reception.

We got married at an all inclusive resort and pretty much all the guests sayed on site.

We are eloping to Sandals Negril (no guests)

so far room is $5,700 for 7 nights – airfare is not out yet, but est to be around $400-600 per person.

We have a $500 dollar wedding credit and we est we will probably be spending around $300 out of pocket for the wedding, but our first phone conference isn’t until August and I will have a better idea then.

We opted to hire an offsite photographer to pick us up after ceremony and do wedding photos and trash the dress photos on the beach at sunset. $1,500 for 3 hours.

wowweee it is a lot for two people eloping haha.
