7k for a 20-day Caribbean cruise (paid for by DH’s parents…best wedding gift ever!), spending about 1k on flights and other transportation, and will probably spend another 1k on excursions.

We’re doing 6 nights at the Westin Princeville in Kauai. Hotel + airfare + rental car from Ohio = $2400. We figure we’ll spend about another $1500 there on food, gas, and fun.

We did a backpacking trip through Europe, 7 countries, 22 days, including, airfare, lodging, expenses, etc just under 7K.

Wow. I thought we splurged big time, but I guess not. And considering everything we saw and did we did really well doing it on the cheap!

10 night at St John USVI is going to be 1800 for hotel and airfare + whatever we spend on food and activities.  Hopefully no more than 1200 for 3k total.

just got back from mine a little over a week ago!

we went to couples swept away in negril jamaica. it was about 4900 for airfare and 7 nights. but we booked really late and it was valentines week – it was actually all booked up and our travel agent had to call and have a room released for us – the only room available was the greathouse jacuzzi suite -their most expensive room – but it was worth every penny!

We are going to Costa Rica as well, leaving March 28th- April 5th, 2011 for a total of 7 nights.  We’re doing 3 different areas with upgraded hotels (not all inclusive but includes breakfast every day), private transportation around the country, and a few activities (snorkeling cruise, hot springs at the Arenal Volcano),and we bought the insurance.  Our total was about $4600.  I know there’s profit in there for the agent, but my parents used this agent for their trip to Europe this year and he went out his way with champagne and fruit delivered to their room, called the waiter in Greece to sing Happy Birthday to my mom, dealt with the hotel when the ferry workers went on strike and they were stuck on a Greek island, etc. so I know there will be surprises waiting for us too and peace of mind is worth a lot!!!   He’s already sent us a waterproof camera so we can take pictures in the Hot Springs.  Our plane tickets were about $600 each, so we are right around $6,000.

we have a budget so it is going to be about 3500.00 but we did register for a few extras on our registry (www.uponourstar.com) so if we are lucky enough on those, we can sneak in a few things more that are not part of our budget- we are going to Ti-Kaye in St Lucia.

If you are thinking of Costa Rica we found an incredible package that includes TONS of stuff. Even things like massages and a photographer (not at the same time ..lol). For what you get  – unlimited awesome food & drinks as well – we thought it was very reasonable; $3700 for 2 people/one week, without airfare. Right in the rain forest, a one of a kind place for sure.
