So I caved today on day 37 before my very informal wedding and contacted a planner to hire. Love Puerto Rico but that laid back island, "everything will just magically fall into place" vibe was killing me! I call my church and I get the fax that they turned on for me to send my papers over almost 2 weeks ago.. I send emails no response….I’m one of those girls who like her ducks in a row. I am totally willing to be stressed here over the details, but I refuse to be stressed when I board the plane to go. I have no idea what it will cost me but I’d pay to know that everything is ready to go.
What’s left to do??
1. Day before the wedding getting to a doctor there to sign off…k, which doctor and preferbly not a Witch doctor…lol.
2. recall my yummy but ugly Cake attempt, yep need a cake.
3. Can I see a pic of the inside of the church…decorations??
4. Is there music or should I burn a CD, CD player??
So how much do you Bees think I should pay a coordinator for all that?

I paid $1000 for a DoC in upstate NY. I have no idea what the cost would be in PR.

tmarie – have you been able to contact any wedding planners there? I found this company…there are others listed also but this one looks..umm…legit….maybe you could contact them to get a cost estimate…

my planner is in London (i’m in Texas until the week of the wedding) and her fee was around $3000, but she is worth EVERY penny and then some. If you’re not in the location of your wedding (and frankly, even if you are) then it means that you can cut your stress levels by half. I’m still involved in all the plans, but instead of spending weeks researching photographers blah blah blah, I have a fabulous list emailed to me and I just have to pick from that. SO much easier. Plus it means my mom and i haven’t had a single fight because the Wedding Party is taking care of all the stressful stuff!

I had emailed a planner originally saying that I was really having a very low key wedding, just needed a church and we had already decided on dinner at the resort’s restaurant after. I found my photographer and she gave me the name of the church that we have booked stating she didn’t see much for her to do for us. So I sent her another email asking for help now, although she hasn’t returned it since friday, so maybe I’ll need the above recommendation, Thank You!
I just wondered what everyone thought was a fair price for the little I need because I’d just about pay anything at this point to have things complete. Although I know I shouldn’t!

mine cost $1200 and she is worth much more. she helps me out soooo much i dont know what I would do without her. Oh if you wanted to know I’m in Las Vegas.

So the prices I’m seeing are about a grand, seems like a lot? Hmmh, well we’ll see what she quotes me. Just needed an idea for the budget. Thanks Bees!
