    It all depends on your budget and what you want. You can spend whatever you want. If you want to spend $3000 then spend it or you can spend $100.

    I spent about $150 on flowers, my mom used to be a florist so we just bought the flowers and she put them together.

    My dress was $800 and accesories probably cost another $75.

    My husband rented a tux for $90.

    Our entire wedding parties gifts cost us around $300.

    Photography was free. We have a friend who was just starting her business and needed clients for her portfolio. We got reaalllly lucky with that one.

    Cake was $350 for wedding cake and grooms cake. From a local grocery store.

    DJ was $500 for the entire night.

    We’re midway through planning and here’s our estimates so far (we live in a cheaper area as well)


    Flowers – $800

    My dress – $400 + alterations

    Veil – $200

    Jewelry & shoes – $200

    Grooms tux – Free w/ groomsmen rentals

    Bridal party gifts – $50 a person, 6 people so = $300

    Photography – $2,200 (10hr, 2 photog, album, e session, canvases, print rights)

    Decorations – $250

    Favors – may do candy bar or no favors, probably $3/person x 300 = $900

    Limo Rental – $750

    Cake – Free made by aunt

    Hotel room for night of – $100

    Dj – $500

    Save the dates, invitations, thank yous, postage etc. – probably $300


    There’s probably more, but it adds up!

    About £10k/15,000 USD on everything you’ve listed, plus the cake, music, and stationery. Our venue hire and catering costs are about the same again.

    well, the photographer, my dress, flowers, etc don’t just seem like little things to me lol. that’s almost all of our budget! photographer was $4k, my dress was $2k, not sure how much everything else will be yet.

    Flowers – $2300 (We only have 2 attendants each, no flower girl. We have 8 centerpieces and a decorated cake table and sweetheart table)

    Favors – Around $250

    Bridal attire – $2,780 total (gown, alterations, jewelry, shoes, hair and make up)

    Grooms attire – $390 (tux rental and shoes that he bought)

    Bridal party gifts – Around $300

    Photography – $3,900 this is where we splurged. We aren’t taking changes on our memories

    Paper (invitations, save the dates, postage) – $700 (postage was around $50)

    DJ – $400

    Ceremony decor – $40 for an aisle runner, using flowers from centerpieces in ceremony

    Officiant – donation of around $100

    No transportation needed – everything is in the same place.

    Dress, photography, flowers, etc are usually very BIG parts of the budget for most people. What do you mean by “everything else”? Like, is it the cost of everything other than venue/food? Because I have no idea how to vote!

    @MsGinkgo:  this is truly going to depend on your wedding.  how many guests, formality, etc. 

    i would strongly suggest breaking down your budget and allotting a certain amount for all of these areas (flowers, decor, invites, apparel, etc) before picking your venue.  then decided if this venue fits into your budget.  the last thing you want is to spend 95% of your budget on an awesome venue and then can’t afford the details to make your day complete.

    you can download many helpful wedding budgets and breakdowns that will assist you accordingly.

    do your research on all wedding related options first so that there are no surprises.

    o my goodness. soo much!! cant even give you a price right now.

    The worst thing we forgot, stamps. yup. we were addressing last night and im looking at the evelopes and all of a sudden im like o crap. My Fh is like what, and im like whats missing…took him a second and then we figured it out. So theres 200$ extra.

    @MsGinkgo:  My venue/food/booze only cost $4,000 out of my $15,000 total, so my “little extras” added up to $11,000! And I considered myself a budget bride! Hah!!

    Here is how everything else added up:

    $2900 Photography: 7 hour base, 1 extra hour, and a leatherbound 80-pic album
    $1800 Attire: Dress, tux, alterations, veil, shoes
    $1300 Rings: Wedding bands only (e-ring not included in budget)
    $1100 Bridal party gifts: We bought their dresses, tuxes, mani/pedis, and actual gifts
    $800  Music: Guitarist at ceremony, DJ at reception
    $600  Cakes: Regular cake plus groom’s cake
    $500  Decor: Pretty minimal, and just for ceremony space
    $500  Beauty: Hair/makeup, teeth whitening (for both of us), tanning, mani/pedi, facial regimen, straight razor shave for him… lots of things
    $500  Officiant fee + cost of a marriage license
    $250  Rehearsal dinner
    $200  Flowers
    $200  Paper: Save-The-Date Cards, invites, postage
    $100  Getaway car detailing: no rental, just cleaning the inside and outside of our car

    Edit: My decor total is an estimate; I never ended up rounding up all the dozens of Hobby Lobby receipts, but my guess is between $300-$500 and includes things that might not be considered “decor” like flower girl baskets, cake cutters, sand ceremony kit, card box, etc!
