Other then the occasional text message during the day I don’t talk to my SO until he gets home at night. Basically because he is not allowed to use his cell phone at work (though he still uses it anyways). We really don’t have much to talk about that can’t wait till we get home anyways. I can e-mail him since we both work on computers all day but generally don’t unless its super important.

We usually text each other throughout the day. We actually used to chat, but now my job invloves me being on my feet in the lab all day, so no computer for me.

I always joke that my Fiance and I are codependent on each other because we are constantly texting each other. He introduced me to the Gmail chat so we are always on it during work hours too. We rarely talk on the phone, mostly because I hate talking on the phone, and being in an office setting, your conversation is EVERYONE’S conversation. The gmail chat thing has come in super handy for downtime wedding planning during the work day.

I text my boyfriend to let him know I’ve gotten to work safely and/or a good morning text whenever I wake up or get to work. Then we text each other throughout the day to see how each other’s day is going. Then I text him to tell him I’m coming home or to ask about what he wants for dinner. So yeah, I’d say we talk alot when we’re apart. But I think that’s from the fact that the first year of our relationship was long distance, and communicating was all we could do. I must say it’s a habit I hope we never break. 🙂

Well he’s sitting riiiight across from me in the office (at this moment trying to look up my skirt – I’m going to sue him for Sexual Harrasment.). We MSN all throughout the day so we can chat privately. I’m surprised we’ve not ran out of conversation after 4 years being together 24/7.

@Neva: hehe we do the same! We use skype though and chat all day unless I am at work (I’m a bank teller so no fun sites for me 🙁 haha) in which case I’ll text him if something funny happens or i just get a random urge to. He does the same. I will admit we are VERY clingy to each other. We don’t get weird though if we are apart for a day or 2 but by the end of the night I am definitely missing the contact.

Me and my Fiance live together. I work nights and he works days. When he’s at work and I’m home, I may text him once a day(if even that). I’ll see him when he gets home that afternoon so seems silly to bug him unless it’s something important at the moment. When I’m working at night and he’s home again, I may text him the beginning of my shift, but not the rest of the night, mainly cause he goes to bed at 9 pm and I’m up all night working at the hospital.
But he hates talking on the phone anyways. Only time he likes to chit chat on the phone is if I’m out of town and he isn’t seeing me everyday.

Work email mostly – and usually at least one call during the day. The call is toward the end of the business day to establish what time we’re getting home and what the dinner plan will be.

We text on and off throughout the day, depending on how busy each of us is. And we we make a point to try to talk for half an hour or so before bed.
Other than the daily phone call, I don’t think our habits will really change once we’re living together.
