I’m getting married that day too!!


•booked our reception hall
•narrowed our ceremony location down to two places – 99% sure on the one..
•booked our photographer.
•chosen a wedding party… and decided on Bridesmaid or Best Man color/style/length (having them pick style)
•ordered my wedding band.
•taken engagement pictures.
•purchased my wedding dress, headband, & veil
•began planning STDs.. should be ordering soon.
•began talking to DJs.
•began guest list

um… i can’t think of anything else.. but I know there’s more…

I think if you feel the dress is the right one, then you shouldn’t worry too much! Just be careful that you REALLY want it though. You don’t want to regret it! πŸ™‚ Your fiance will love how you look no matter what!

We have:

-booked our ceremony venue

-booked our reception venue

-booked our photographer

-booked our DJ

-picked out invites but have not ordered them

-picked out my gown (tried it on today!!!!) but not ordered it

-picked out my wedding band but havent ordered it

-found an officiant (my boss) but have not discussed terms

up next- try to decide on a caterer. Ugh. I don’t even know how to go about that one.

Hello Ladies! 

We have:

– Booked venue (inc. food etc)

– Booked photographer

– Met with a florist

– Bought Dress

– Sent out save the dates to those traveling from overseas 

– Bought bridesmaids dresses

– Almost bought the boys suits πŸ™‚

Just out of interest when are you all planning on sending out invitations? I have some going overseas and I cant work out when is best!

August 6th!

We have:

*reserved ceremony venue and officiant

*reserved reception venue and caterer

*chosen DJ (still need to sign contract)

*hired wedding planner

*tried on dresses

I’ll be trying on more dresses at the end of the month and then making a decision.  I am in the process of making will you be my bridesmaid cards and we’ve talked about who will play different roles in our ceremony.  I know what I want to do for save the dates but need to take engagement photos first.  Hopefully we will interview photographers at the end of August/beginning of September and take engagement photos mid-September.

Re timing of invitations–half of our guests are from out of the country so we’ll be doing STDs in November and then probably send out invitations 4 months early instead of the usual 2-3.

It amazes me how much some of you have gotten done!

I suddenly feel very stressed!  I haven’t gotten anything done.  It has been a hectic month to say the least, we will have been engaged for 1 month on the 27th!

My Mom and I are going to make the STD’s and Invitation, so we did go to a boutique and look through some invites.  I found a STD I’d like to make and we’re going to start on the pocket folders as soon we decide on our colors (we’re really leaning towards eggplant and lime green).

We have to narrow our venue down from 3 places (his Dad’s on the river, our friends gorgeous home, or a vineyard in Carlton, Oregon).  Hmmm…

August 27th 2011

We’ve booked the venue (ceremony and reception) caterer is included πŸ˜€ 

Chose colors (aqua and tangerine) 

Decided on table design (ordered burlap for table runners, have all the blue ball jars I need)

ordered pocket folds and envelops for my DIY invitations

starting making tissue poms for the napkin rings. 


and umm that’s about it. 

Important need to’s:

send out “will you be my” cards to the bridal party – they’re ALMOST done. 

Ask our friend to officiate

Ask our friend’s band to play


and well the DIY list seems to be 1000 miles long.

Set the date (August 27th)

Picked best man and groomsman, I can’t decide on which two girls I want to stand up with me…

Aug 20 here too! πŸ™‚ I feel like I’ve got quite a bit accomplished, but then I look around WB & at my to-do list, and feel like I’ve done nothing… Sigh. PS We’ve been engaged since Oct 2009, so I’ve had almost a year to do these (& I’m in school, what was I thinking?!)

  • Booked venue (ceremony & reception, includes caterer)
  • Booked photog
  • Booked DJ
  • Purchased dress (hasn’t arrived yet)
  • Sent STD’s (we’re semi-destination, giving ample $-saving time)
  • Created centerpiece concept & made prototype (haven’t purchased all supplies yet tho)
  • Booked officiant
  • Designed colors/concept
  • Selected bridal party (easy peezy, my BFF & his brother)
  • Blocked hotel rooms
  • Booked rehearsal dinner venue
  • Created registries
  • Created & launched wedding website (necessary for STD’s)
  • Began to make DIY invite suite

Next up on my hit list (my deadline: Dec 1)

  • Research & book florist
  • Research & book cake baker
  • Assemble invites
  • Select & reserve tuxes
  • Start DIY projects that I keep writing down & finding great ideas on WB & yet, haven’t started…

Phew. Can you tell im a Type A girl? I’ve only been planning my wedding since I was 5. And now that its here, it’s all different than I’d imagined! Is that happening to anyone else?

Hi everyone!

August 6th here, can’t wait πŸ™‚


So far we have:

*Our ceremony and reception location booked

*Bridesmaids, Maid/Matron of Honor, Best Man and Groomsmen picked out

*Colors (Plum and Sage!)

*Bridesmaid dresses picked out (not bought yet b/c I want to look around a bit more with my girls)

* I have a dress…that I got at ROTB.  I think I love it but……since I didn’t get that traditional bridal salon shopping experience, I may be going to try more on in the next few months…….ahhhhhh!

*Scoped out paper for our DIY invites and STDS.  Just need to finalize design concepts!

Currently I’m meeting with caterers and hoping to finalize that in a few weeks.  Then on to the photographer and videographer. 


There’s SO much to do right?!

Aug 6th as well

we have:

-just got my dress the other day

-colors are picked out

-flowers decided on(DIY, so not here yet)

– save the dates sent out

– invitations done, just need to be printed

– thank you note desinged(not printed)

-designed table looks

-bought vases for centerpieces

-got 90% of our guests addresses in a spreadsheet

-bridal party all set

-got my wedding shoes


-booking photographer next week

-decided on the men’s suits


Missmargie- you are soo right, the list is never ending.  I get tired just thinking about everything else I have to do!

August 13th, here.

I’ve booked the venue, and… chosen the colors. I’m way behind, it seems. I’ve gone dress shopping once, but didn’t order anything. I guess I’ve given a lot of thought to invitations and other paper products/decor/flowers, but nothing else has been set it stone or decided.
