We make combined between 350-400K.  My Fiance is in sales so that changes year to year, but it’s been pretty consistent…hopefully it stays that way!!  We live very comfortably, we never have to save for anything, and have a lot of money in savings (money markets/investments/ and so on).  We love traveling so we go on vacations around the US and the Caribbean about 5 or more times a year.  We are giving up traveling the year of our wedding to use that money towards wedding expenses, and we saved for 3 years before getting engaged (and bought our house first).  Our budget was originally $50K in Chicago, but it’s on the verge of $70K, trying my best to keep the budget under $65K.  So I guess we are spending just over 15% of our income, but again, we are cutting trips out of our normal routine and we saved ($30k) over three years for the wedding.

We make about $220K combined (I’m a freelancer so it varies). Our budget is $35-40K. We are paying for everything ourselves, in cash, by having a longer engagement and putting aside money each month.

we make $73,000 total pre tax. this would be better if we didn’t pay so much for student loans, hah. our budget started at $6,000.  it is now $10,000. wedding day + honeymoon is around $15,000. this doesn’t include my $5,500 ring and our wedding bands (hopefully won’t spend much on these).  FI’s parents are giving us around $3,500, we are paying for the rest.

@Waitingbee57:  I think that there are special videos/articles available in the Members section of the website that would be able to help with that, BUT he doesn’t believe in credit so while he might be able to give you steps to remediate your credit, I don’t think he will actually encourage you to BUILD credit …. does that make sense?  So he might tell you ways to bring it up, but he does not place much importance on a “good” credit score.  Definitely look into it!
