I’m a biology PhD student/teaching assistant and my stipend is about $24k per year. I’m in Florida, so the cost of living is fairly low compared to a lot of places, but that still is not enough to live on and have any sort of quality of life (I had to take some student loans when I was single), luckily my husband makes more at his job and can support us.

SithLady:  isn’t it so unbelievable how teachers/teachers aids and assistants do not make enough to support themselves financially? I know a lot of people say that we do nothing, we are off of work for 3 months a year, BLAH blah, but it’s fucking hard! And forget about being about to live alone! I would never be able to afford to live alone! If i didn’t have Fiance I would have to move in with my parents bc I wouldn’t be able to afford it… END RANT hahaha

I live in Toronto, Canada. I’m in Corporate Communications for a bank.

I make $72,000 + bonus (which can range from $5,000 – $15,000 per year)

I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology, a post-graduate degree in Corporate Communications and a Master’s in Strategic Communications. So yes, I use my degrees every day!

I’m a secretary at a labor union in Florida, I did not finish my AA degree. I make around 36k a year, considering I don’t have a degree I think is pretty decent.

TaurianDoll:  it is true. Everyones salary is inflated in the field. He should transition. We have an IT member just for our team to do technology and techincal items and she loves it. Great pay, bonuses and benefits.
