My cut’s are usually $30/$35. I have super long thick hair but I live in a very rural area. I have paid much more for a cut in the city and even here but the quality I get at the salon I use now is amazing (& I see the stylist just under the owner/most expensive). It’s been a while since I got it colored but I think with a cut & color (solid color, no high/low lights) it was about $100 with the tip…

I just get an inch trimmed off every few months, so I just go to the local beauty school.  It’s $5 for a trim, and $3.50 each month to color my hair dark brown.

When I colored my hair blonde, I paid about $180 for a cut/color, once a month, including tip.

@Kristen0160:  I pay $90 for a trim and half weave with low lights.  It is more if I want an actual major haircut

$100+tip for cut and full-head highlights.  If I lived in an area where cut and color was more like $200-$300, I don’t think I would color my hair!

I live in a rural area in Michigan and it’s $30 (with a tip) for me to have a cut.  Never had color before, but the highlights I’m looking at will be around $45-70?

at a decent salon, cut $65 balayage highlights 120-150, so at least $220 with tip. I don’t usually go to a salon though, one of my good friends does hair in NYC and is amazing and does mine when she’s home visiting.

@Kristen0160:  ..I have so much freakin hair…since its as big around as one of those giant magic markers when I put it in a pony tail AND is all the way down to my belt loops now, that when I do actually schlep my mop in for a cut, its always at least $150, because my poor little stylist reminds me of Prince Charming in Sleeping Beauty, when he’s cutting his way through the brambles around the castle….I haven’t colored it in years, but when I was barbie blonde, that was another $300…when I was sporting the Wonder Woman Black…that was $175 and when I was Poison Ivy Red…that was only $120.

Don’t feel bad, you’re doing fine on price.

Man i WISH a cut and color was $100 for me! My double-process and a haircut runs about $300. I only cut my hair about every 6 months but I do my roots every 6 weeks for $180.

I pay $200 for a trim, colour and tip. If I pay cash, they don’t charge me tax.

Edit: If location is helpful to put cost into perspective, I get my hair done in a suburb just outside Toronto.

Over $100.  The cut is typically $35-50 and the color is $60+ depending on what type of process they use to dye my hair and whether they use a toner or highlights/lowlights.
