I live about 13 miles from Seattle but I’m currently paying $1000 for a 2bed/2bath apartment. We looked for apartments in Seattle when we first moved here but it was in the 1500 to 2000 or more. This was for smaller apartments. We really wanted at least 2 bedrooms and that’s why we found a place outside of the city.

We “rent” from my mom so it isn’t too bad price wise but a comparable apt would cost us probably $1800 because we need three bedrooms.

Thats cheap! I’m in the okanagan too, and I seriously think a house on the lake for that price is a steal!!

Wow. Any dream I ever had of moving to New York is definitely dead after seeing how much you all pay. I knew it was expensive, but OMG. We could maybe have one of those studio-type apts. with the bathtub in the kitchen that doubles as a table and the toilet in the closet. lol
Anyway, we pay $885 and we live just outside Portland, ME. We have a two bedroom duplex with a full basement (our own washer/dryer) and a huge yard. All re-done inside (except for the kitchen, naturally) with hardwood floors. I think the rents are high around here considering it’s an economically depressed state, but I guess it just depends on the neighborhood. We live near the coast, which is considered very desirable (well, for 3 months out of the year anyway:)
But based on what most of you in the south and midwest are paying and what you’re getting, I’m totally jealous!

About $375/month with utilities, for a 250 sq.feet, 1 bdr/1 bath in Missouri. It is super tiny, but it is enough room for Fiance and I.

OMG, I know. Me too. Not to have to hoard quarters or share a single washer/dryer with 10 other people…that would be nice.

We live in the largest city in New Hampshire. We have a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit. There is a washer/dryer in our unit, 2 large closets, one regular sized, dishwasher, etc. Our rent is $1605/month including a parking fee for a second space (covered garage parking) and a monthly pet fee. No utilities included.

My husband dreams of dishwashers. This is a problem given that both of us prefer prewar buildings!
