You’re getting a good deal.
The cost isn’t priced per bedroom or per bathroom or square footage. That’s just the marginal cost to the cleaner. They have fixed costs: Driving, fuel, equipment and materials, time, and also the lost opportunity cost that they could go clean someone else’s larger house for more money.
We paid $75 every other week in our 2BR and 1 bath place (1100sqft)

why did I bother getting my degrees? Cleaners make more than I do!

Thank you all so much!! I was a little worried since my parents are only paying a little more for a substantially bigger house but I feel better about it all now 🙂 it did feel great walking into a clean home !
vee1980 : haha seriously!! I feel the same exact way!!!

weddingbliss1028 : Yes, that is very reasonable. I pay $90 every other week for a 3 bedroom/3.5 bath 2100 sq ft home. Two people usually come to clean at that price.

That’s so cheap. We pay double that.

I’ve never been quoted for space just for hourly rate. I was charged 125 for 4 hours.

weddingbliss1028 : I pay $120 every 2 weeks for a 3 bed 1.5 bath, about 1900 sq ft. The initial clean was $240 for 2 people to spend over 6 hours hosing this place down. Just outside of Boston and we have a baby and a large shedding dog so it’s a big job lol.

I have been trying to find a house cleaner for a couple years. They all say they are not taken on new clients.
I had one quote the job at something ridiculous. Like $150 per week.
I would gladly pay what you pay. We have 5 bedrooms but 2 are never used.

It sounds par for the course around here, actually less than average.
