I keep checking back here to see if ANYONE spends more than I do. Chillmer comes close. But I keep hoping that someone will spend more than me and make me feel better about myself. Embarassed

Ah, as I was typing that, Miss Jay bested me!

You bring up a good point, too. I buy NOTHING on credit. If I can’t pay cash, I’m not buying it. I also get a lot of clothes for free from sample sale sites (Rue La La, Gilt, etc.) because I get a lot of referral credits from my blog.

I love Ruelala too!! Although they don’t ship to Canada.  I still go on there daily tho & check out all the great sales!

To be honest I think I’m too scared to calculate how much I spend on clothes. But I haven’t shopped in the longest time because all expenses were towards the wedding.  And I have to point out that the Darling Husband spends more money on clothes than I do!  Haha, he’s so metro!

I really dont even want to think about it. But I will say this I work a 2nd job (1 day a week) for shopping. I bring home about $85 from that a week and dont save it and it doesnt go towards bills

I am a big shopper as far as clothing and makeup products go. I would say on average I spend about 100 per month, some months more and some months less. In september i usually splurge about 500-600 on fall clothing and the same in March for spring/summer clothing.

I have to wear a suit to work everyday, and women suits are EXPENSIVE and really difficult to find!  And unlike my male counterparts, I just can’t have a black and navy suit with rotating shirts and ties (if I wore ties).

Now that i’ll be going overseas, I’m on a shopping spree for “less then ideal working conditions clothing” 🙂

I’ve also fallen into the bad habit lately of getting a new outfit for every occasion we have instead of using items already in my closet.

I’ve never kept track, but I would imagine that I spend about $2-3,000 per year (excluding my wedding dress!!).

I don’t keep track either. I shop the sale rack all the time too, unless I have to have it. But I try to rarely go. We are trying to save up money to move far far away so I have to be careful to watch what I spend.

I haven’t kept track, but I honestly have no way of knowing. I have a TON of clothes (literally, probably lol) but I hardly ever buy anything full price. There are also some months when I don’t buy anything, and other months where I buy a ton.

This has made me curious- I want to total it up, but I’m a little afraid of seeing the result! 😛

Mint says I’ve spent $450 this year so far on clothes/shoes.

It’s so good to hear I’m not the only one who spends too much on clothes every month! I can’t help myself from buying new clothes every season, but it can definitely add up when you really think about how much you are spending (even on sale stuff).

I don’t know if you’ve heard about CAbi Clothing, but they have some really cute styles for each season and the CAbi Canary blog can help you mix and match clothes from previous collections so that you can save some money by re-wearing the pieces you already have.

I work in retail management so I spend alot of money on clothes. I manage a clothing store I do get a discount but I probably spend 300-400 a month on clothing!!!! Its honestly an addiction!

@moderndaisy — I use Mint.com to track all my budgeting/spending (it’s free and awesome–check it out!!)  and it automatically categorizes all your spending–clothing, food, alcohol/entertainment, car/travel, etc.  I am pretty practical about spending on clothes like you but am a little surprised by how much it can add up after several months.  I’m preggers now and I have to admit one of the things I’m looking forward to most is being able to shop again!
