Hi ladies! With nice weather and cute spring clothes coming out, I’m really tempted to buy a bunch of new clothes, especially dresses! I am not an impulse shopper and typically think about things/wait for sales or coupons before buying them or hit up the clearance sections. I’m just wondering what everyone else spends on new clothes!
For dresses (which I wear more often than pants): no more than $35, but usually more like $20-$25; less for little sundresses to wear on the weekends
For jeans: $20-$25
For nice pants/skirts: $18-$25
For shorts/casual skirts: $15-$18
For tank tops/nice shirts for work: $5-$15
What about everyone else? I’m really curious to hear different opinions on what is expensive or not!

It depends on how much I like something. I range from spending $20-200 on one article of clothing. If its something I’m going to wear often I usually spend a bit more. I never spend more than $50 on jeans though.

I’m a jeans and t-shirt or sweater type girl (even at work) so there’s not much dress buying for me. For jeans I typically spend about $75-$100/pair (sounds like a lot, but they are on clearance and retail for 2x as much…and I havent bought jeans in years after I built a good collection of about 10-12 pairs). Tshirts: $10-$15. Sweaters $15-$30. The occasional dress: $20-$30.

eeek…I am pretty bad about spending a lot of clothes.
My fav shops are J.Crew, Nordstroms, Ann Taylor Loft…I usually drop around $125 on jeans and $50-$60 on tops.

I usually shop at Banana Republic… so $50-60 for tops, $80-100 for pants, $180-200 for dresses. Damn, I need to bargain hunt better.

I consider myself a bargain hunter, but I do mostly shop at stores like J. Crew, Banana, Gap, Nordstrom Rack, H&M, Express, etc. And I have to wear suits to work, so that adds up. I’ve rarely spent less than $50 on a pair of jeans though. Eeeek!

I used to spend a lot on jeans (was going through a designer jeans phase and had tons of disposable income and no rent, thanks college) but I’ve jumped on the flash sale train recently, so I can get designer pairs for around $60.00 bucks and I’m cool with that.
I buy American Apparel tshirts (love them, hate the brand).
My big splurges these days are classic blazers. I’ll invest a lot of money into a nice blazer, anywhere from $100-$400 dollars, because I have quite the collection and I actually wear them.
I like to keep dress purchases below $60.00 bucks, usually around $40.00 for summer/spring dresses. But I’m open because dresses get a lot of use in my closet.
I don’t spend much more than $40.00 on a top and usually get them from Hautelook or Rue Lala these days.

I buy everything on sale but I tend to spend more because I don’t go for trendy items. I wear sevens so jeans run $200 full price but I usually get them for $80 – 90
Dresses – $100 – 300
Dress pants/skirts – $80 – 150
Casual skirts/shorts – $50 – 100
Work shirts – $50 – 100
I bought a cute shirt to wear out to drinks/dinner last week and thought it was a steal at $47 Darling Husband disagreed haha.

It all depends on the day. Some days I am feeling stingy and I go to Old Navy and buy nothng over $25. Other days I go a little crazy and buy things that cost around $100 a piece. Though those days are rather limited to shopping for things like events and vacations!

@hopefloats: I agree. It really just depends. I have clothing ranging from $20 from Target to $200 for nice jeans, shoes and suits. If I’m more likely to wear something a lot and it’s a staple item like jeans, black pumps, a nice sweater, I spend more. If it’s something super trendy that will be out of style by next season, I spend less.
Living in LA we don’t really have much seasonal clothing so I can wear most of my clothes year round so I do get a lot of wear out of most things.

I usually shop at TJMaxx, Marshalls or Ross so that I can get reasonable quality clothes on the cheap. For a fashion item, I try to keep it under $30. If it’s something that I will get a lot of wear out of, I might spend $50-60. I don’t shop for clothes very often, my toddler has probably 3x the wardrobe that I have.

Dresses I usually spend $60 or less on, unless it’s a fancy dress or a real high quality dress that will be in m closet for years to come.
Shorts, no more thna $40 and tanks less than $20. Sandals I will spend up to $60 if they’re going to be my go to pair for the summer.
I’m very tempted to start my spring/summer shopping b/c its 80 degrees in New Husband today!

@les105: Me too! Marshalls, Ross, TJ Maxx, and Target. I buy my dress pants at NY&Co, and some dress clothes. I also like Forever 21, but rarely buy anything there.
I usually spend around $30-50 for pants, $10-20 for shirts, and somewhere in between for dresses/skirts.
