definately just like my gramma where she does that admatch/ad price match whatever. then i dont have to go to every store where the sales are on!!! We spend about ….100 a week, we almost always eat the same thing everyday lol.. we usually eat 2-3 tubs of spinach $6 a pop, 3-4 broccoli $1.99 per head, mass amount of yogurt and oatmeal PER week…so that definately adds up, but were buying alot more frozen veggies so thats helping! Cuz usually we just bbq them or cook them in the dish were making anyway [ pasta soup thai food etc]

I don’t have much experience to share. Since My Fiance isn’t living with me yet, but he does eat dinner with me most weekday evenings and all meals on the weekends.  I’ve only been living on my own officially for 1 month so this could change but November I spent $300 at ‘supermarkets’. We’re still building a pantry and I’m sure some of those item’s probably weren’t food.

paigey22:  We go shopping once to twice a month and spend $100-$150 per trip. I’ve learned to really bargin shop, buy things on sale, compare prices, go to multiple stores. If you have an Aldi in your area, those are great for saving money! I can’t say we exactly “budget”, we go shopping and get what we need, but just make smarter decisions with what we’re buying. Coupons really help too, I’m just bad at remembering to bring them… We’ve also noticed a big decrease in the bill since we don’t buy many snack foods anymore. Its crazy how it all adds up!

When I was on my own and vegetarian, I spent about $40/week on food. Now that SO and I live together and I’m no longer veg (haven’t been for years actually), we spend about $100 a week on food. Sometimes more, if we have friends or family over for dinner – we do this a couple times a month. So I’d say 100-150/month, to be safe.

I meal plan, but I’ll buy meat that’s on sale for a good price even if it isn’t in my plan. So we have some back-up meat in the freezer all the time.

onthefritz:  Holy *&!$ snack food is expensive! I’m with you on that one. I also don’t coupon or anything, but I’ll almost always buy the cheaper version or the one on sale, which helps.

We spend a lot to feed 3 adults ( my Mother-In-Law lives with us ). Our grocery bill is usually $200-250week. However, we never eat out and cook every meal at home. We only eat out on special occasions and we live too far out in the country for take out to be an option. Meat is the biggest expense for us because we only buy local, humanely raised beef, pork and chicken.

paigey22:  about $150 a week, sometimes more. We like to buy a lot of organic and as close to natural as possible and that gets expensive around here. I use coupons whenever they’re available and my grocery store has weekly deals on certain things.

I also go every few days. Instead of once a week or every two weeks where I may buy too much ahead of time and have it go bad and need to throw it out.

I also live in a pretty expensive area and we cook A LOT. The grocery bill isn’t too bad considering we rarely eat out.

I go shopping around once per week and spend $100 on average per trip. My fiancé works away so I spend a lot less when he’s gone as I eat pretty clean, a lot of vegetarian (simply because I can’t be bothered defrosting meat). When he’s home we eat a lot of pasta, red meat, potatoes and that sort of thing and I end up spending an additional $40 or so per week just picking up things for meals for that night. We also do a Costco run about once every 3 months and spend usually $350.

I do look through the flyers for deals but do the majority of my shopping at one store (Superstore) because they’re usually pretty decently priced and they have a lot of store brands I really love.

Irish2014:  I hear you on the meat! I’m very picky about where it comes from and what it’s diet was etc…also eggs. Ugh, so much more expensive but worth it lol

We spend about $75-100 per week for the two of us.  We don’t own a car, so we basically shop at trader joe’s and farmer’s markets since those are the most convenient options location-wise.  Some things that have helped with the cost are — 1) buying fewer snack foods ,2) not overbuying foods that spoil (fresh produce, dairy, etc.), 3) frozen veggies and frozen fish.

It varies, depending on what we are doing and how much we are eating out, but I would say that usually we spend about $100 per week.

paigey22:  Fiance and I generally spend about $100-$130 a week. We go to Kroger and rack up on fuel points to save on gas, and I load coupons to my app which automatically goes on my card. And occasionally we will treat ourselves and go out to eat!
