We generally give $250 unless we have a very close relationship with the couple…

We traditionally give $250-$300 depending on the level of friendship.

Family is usually more.

I’m way down on the spectrum with this one.  I don’t spend a lot on standard gifts, so for a wedding I go up to about $50 for friends/acquaintances and maybe $100 for family.  Also I buy gifts, I have never, ever given money because it bores me.  I think it must be typical for the people I spend time with though – the most we were gifted for our wedding was $300 and that was a shared gift among about 5 family members.  I keep being shocked when I see how much people ‘earn’ off their weddings.  Not in my world, lol

Our varies considerably by our relationship to the couple and our financial situation (i.e. it’s gone up over the years as we’ve made more). Typically if I’m not able to afford as much as I would like to give in the moment I find a way to get them a physical gift from their registry with coupons, etc so that they don’t know exactly how much I spent but still got a nice gift.

My usual amount is $100 for just myself attending, or $200 for Fiance & I.  If it’s a very close friend or family member we’ll add on $50 or so, or add on something from the registry too.

Wow! Apparently I’m cheap compared to all of you. lol. We’ve ranged from $50-150 depending on how close we are with the couple. Family we’ve done a bit more (i.e. Brother-In-Law was $300). At our own wedding we received on average, $100 per couple. Perhaps where you live makes a difference??

I give about $200-300 depending on the relationship and whether I’m attending.

Usually $100-$150 per person. So if it’s me and my Fiance we give $200-$300 depending on the wedding. If it’s someone very close, we have given up to $500.

I feel cheap reading this. We are both “starving” artists so for our friends, etc. if we give a gift we normally give somewhere between 50-100 bucks…but my fiancé is a videographer/photographer (as well as a screenwriter) and I am a hairstylist & makeup artist so we normally offer our services as well.

ETA: Most of our friends are in the same industry as us, and this is the norm & is expected. When it comes to family, we chip in with our parents for our gift.

We give from $50 to $100 depending on how close we are to the couple. That really all we can afford. I would definitely go up to $300 for family if we could!

I live in a large city and am in my mid 20s, the most we have given is $200 for Brother-In-Law. My close friends get $150. When I was just graduating college it was about $75.

If we are both invited but unable to attend: $100

If we are both going to the wedding as guests: $200

If one of us is IN the wedding: $250

Most we’ve ever given: $300 (FI’s sister)
