I always tip $10, regardless of what I’m getting done. Then again I’ve never paid more than $30 something for a haircut.

My colorist works at a salon I could *never* afford if it weren’t for him knowing my Boyfriend or Best Friend for nearly 20 years. He hooks it up, big time.

The first time I went in for a $400 corrective color, he charged me $75, and I tipped him $125.

Now, he charges me $75 for a $200 color and $30 for a $60 hair cut. My last bill was $105, and I tipped $55.

If you’re getting some massive hook up, definitely tip them for what you *should* be spending.

If you are paying regular pricing, I’d say at least 20%. It will come back to you: he will move other appointments to get me in, or even come in early or stay late.

I tip 20-25%. I think my haircut is $60-$70, I forget. You should also tip whoever shampoos your hair or gives you a blowout if it’s not the same stylist.

Usually I tip hair / makeup / spa services 20%.  However, my haircuts are $85 and I usually tip $20. Mostly because we have to tip in cash at my salon and I never have $17 in cash, so it’s easier to give a $20 and I’m too lazy to ask her for change!

Depends, I guess… on a $30-some haircut, I give her a $10.  For $100 cut and color, I give her a $20, maybe more for highlights that look good.

A happy hairdresser/beauty therapist means a happy client! not nessary to tip anyone but at the sametime I know my stylist will always fit me in somewhere and not leave me stuck! Its worth building up a good relationship with your hairdresser, and yes they for sure remember if your a tipper or not!

A LOT.

My hair cuts are like $25 (God love Vermont), and I generally tip $15.

My entire family has had this one amazing hair lady for like 10 years. She’s become the most popular in the salon, so we have to tip well to keep getting appointments with her!

20-25%. My stylist is awesome and only charges $35 for a cut!

I always tip 20 percent for salon services. Before I relocated, I used to pay about $253 for a cut, color, and foil highlights and lowlights, and an eyebrow waxing, so my tip was over $50, plus something small for the shampoo person.  Since I’m no longer working and live in a small town, I am thankful that salon services are much less expensive here, but I still tip 20 percent.
