I tip 20%. I believe it’s the norm everywhere I’ve lived (at least in the US), in the past 6 years or so. In HS and college I think I tipped 15% but that was before the norms had changed.
20% also makes it easier to calculate tip-just take 10% of the total bill and double that! Great for someone as bad at mental math as I am. Then I’ll round up.
But what’s this I’m reading about doubling the tax? I’ve never heard that rule before!
