@annb9:  It’s definitely possible at the budget, as long as you are not expected the best of the best of the best.  You’ll have even more options if you look outside of the city a bit, or even just outside of Boston proper.

Its definitely possible.  We are getting married in August at the Omni Parker house and our budget is less than that all in. And the venue package includes a ton, which saves me time and energy finding food, liquor, cake, linens, etc. We also are getting married on a Sunday (we figure we would give people a nice long weekend trip!) so they discounted everything for us 15%.

call.me.red:  Off-topic, but your wedding day earrings are what I’ve been looking for! Would you be willing to share where you got them?

(Sorry for the tangent, OP!)

definitely possible but can also vary based on what you want – like if you are looking for a 10 piece band, vera wang gown and peonies for miles then its going to be pretty tough but if you are just looking for a nice middle of the road wedding then yes.

annb9:  You have more than a healthy budget for 125 people! More than do-able in Boston. If you want a city-style wedding, definitely look into the State Room for gorgeous views! The Westin at Copley also has nice hotel-style space and they have a really special wedding room that has linens, decorations, and such to design your wedding. I’m having my wedding in the Boston Seaport area (with waterviews!) and I have about half your budget for 100 ppl – it’s a bit of a squeeze BUT with a handful of DIYs, we are going to be good to go. 🙂 Good luck!

you can also check out Boston Public Library, they do weddings there too, if you want a less fancier option than the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons, i’m sure they have a friendlier pricing chart than those hotels and how can you beat the location!

Keep in mind if you are having your reception in those hotels, your guests might want to stay in there too, so you’d have to see how the room-block pricing works.

you can also check out function/banquet halls as opposed to hotels..
