Just wondering….I am trying to budget for it. I bought my dress ( a store sample) online so I will have to find a seamstress to put one on my dress. I will start calling around town in the next week or two to get an idea. Just wondering what you ladies have paid. This is the type of bustle I would like:

My whole alterations with bustle, steaming and fixing my straps were $300. I had a 8 point french bustle. I believe if remember right was bustle alone about $100 something

I didn’t need any alterations except the bustle. (Why don’t designers just put the darn bustle in to begin with? They know you are going to need it!)
Mine cost $50 for 3 strings to be sown in underneath. Ridiculous, but I feel like I got off easy since everything else fit perfectly.

My alternations were $300 for a bustle and a hem. I think the breakdown was that the bustle itself cost $65.

I had a similiar bustle done. My bustle was $125 USD, I had a take-in on the bodice, about $175 for that. Steaming was another $75 bucks. None of it is cheap 🙁

$50 for three points, but I’m using the dress shop that I bought my dress at and thier pricing awesome.

Mine was $15 per bustle “point,” and I had four of them, so $60 total for the bustle.

I paid $30 for 3 point. Ask around. Thats how I found the seamstress.

I think I’m getting ripped off…she priced my bustle as $300 alone without hemming and neckline alterations…only getting 3 points put in…

I had the train on my reception dress removed and hemmed and bra cups inserted and my ceremony dress hemmed, bustled, and bra cups inserted all for $150. She is a tailor that works out of her home so no over head and she is AMAZING.

I was told at the salon that they usually charge 10$ per point

I had about 5 bustle points put in and she also hemmed my dress and it cost me $400.CDN

At the salon I went to, bustles are flat-fee around $50. Mine ended up being a little more because I needed a combination bustle (the underskirt is american, and the train is french). Between that and hemming (4 layers of dress), alterations were $195.
