@ImaStarr:  I’m a dark brunette and I’m a blonde now. The first time I went it was $100.00 and it was heavyheavy higlights. I would start out with that so you don’t have ramen colored hair. Plus, I just do heavy highlights every time and the brown/carmel colors shows a LITTLE bit & it looks way cooler. Depends on what salon, but you can call around and ask. My stylist now is my best friend but I pay her $60.00 everytime she does my hair again. Which is about once a month. I love the blonde color so much more with the small amounts of brown, rather than all bleached hair.

    Good luck!

It really depends on your area, how fast your hair grows, etc.

I have very dark hair with highlights, and I go every 6-8 weeks. It costs about $120 each time, and that is just outside the city.

Have you talked to your hairdresser about this? I’m far from an expert but I think going straight from blonde to brunette can be very damaging to your hair and it might be best to lighten it over several months.

When I had my hair blonde, I went every 6weeks and it was about $100 each time.  It had to be double processed (root color and highlights) each time so it was quite the expense.

also, be prepared to be told you may not be able to get to your desired shade of blonde straight away. Going from brunette to blonde takes time if you don’t want to fry you hair.

Now, I’m a redhead and I still go every 6 weeks but its a lot less time and money.  My roots are also not nearly as obvious.

I have dirty blonde hair naturally, I highlight it so it’s more golden / lighter. I pay $150 for a cut and color every 8 weeks. That price is only for a partial highlight too, so if you lifted up my hair there would be certain places where you could see my darker roots.

My hair is $180 every month or two.
