I, too, have a larger than average stone for the small town I live in. I adore my ring but I love my Fiance so much that I would have accepted a ball of tinfoil on my finger if that’s what he could offer!

I’ve had people ask how much it cost. It really caught me off guard at first because I would never dream of asking such a question. Now that I’m used to it, I usually give the same answer to anyone who says “how much did your ring cost?” I say “it cost him his whole heart!”

Are we talking center stone or TCW? If we are talking center stone then 0.5 ct, but it such a good quality stone that it just looks much larger and sparkles like crazy! If TCW then I am pretty sure close to 1ct but I am not sure since I haven’t actually received my ring yet, just stared at it aodringly for a few seconds.

Large stones are a gorgeous thing of nature (of the lab 😉 but I don’t feel comfortable wearing a single large stone. I do live in a big city where it’s common to wear big stones but it’s not for my personnality. I did want a large ring though, with lots of sparkle so I went with a vintage flower halo design. The center stone is 0.33 ct and the total is 0.75 ct. Large ring with intricate circles, so I love it!!!

My ring is actually .68 carat, but according to our jeweler (a trusted family friend, not a sleazy salesperson, haha) it has the face and appearance of a .75 carat, which is what I wanted. I wanted something very dainty. I have a total of 23 diamonds in the ring: the center stone, 10 on each side of the band, and 2 on each side of the setting (that you see in the side view). I haven’t gotten any questions about the carat size or any condescending looks because it’s “small.” I have, however, gotten “It’s cute” as a reaction, which isn’t really the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of an engagement ring, but it doesn’t really bother me. It sparkles like nobody’s business and is a very good quality diamond, which was important to me too.  Personally, I love it. It is exactly what I wanted and I think it suits the size of my hand and fingers.
