Mine is $65…wedding day is $95.  I’ve definitely seen trials for $40, but they were less established hair dressers.  I think it’s a lot, but I’m just sucking it up : )

My stylist charged $20 for the trial and the big day style is $40. I’m also having my hair done in a south NJ suburb, so it’s cheaper.

Most of the salons I called charged the exact same for a trial as they would for regular wedding hair.  I was pretty surprised by that, but I guess it’s the same amount of work whether it’s on the wedding day or a month before.  I kept calling around and found a place that did the first trial for 1/2 off though, and was much happier with that.

Prices vary greatly by region.  I paid $75 for the trial, and will pay $75 on the actual wedding day.

at my salon and every salon in my area they charged the same for the trial as they did for the real thing.  So I had to pay $65 for the trial.

My trial was $60 and my day of is going to be $85.  She said if we had tried multiple looks it would have been the same price as the day of because it takes her time and products.

i remember being surprised at the costs when i first started looking into hair and makeup, but i would say that $72 is not outrageous, especially depending on what area you are in. i got married in san francisco bay area and my hair trial was $75.

Mine was $50 but I travelled to her.  If she had to come to my place, she would have charged $75.

Mine was free for the hair trial and $50 for the makeup (both done by the same people).  I dont think $72 is unreasonable, to the hair stylist even though it is “practice” they are still spending their time, effort and products on it.  Are you going to them or are they coming to you?
