The premium depends on the apparaisal value and where you live.  you can check quotes at jewelersmutual.com

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never heard of ring insurance before.  Fiance and I don’t have it, or have plans of getting it.

I think insuring your rings is a great idea, especially anything worth over $1000.  For $50-200 a year, you can get coverage (broken/lost/stolen/standard repairs, depending on your plan).

I work in a jewelry service center and recently a woman contacted us because she lost her original ring and her insurance company was applying the insurance value towards her purchase of a new ring.  it’s up to you but personally, better safe than sorry.

For my e-ring, it’s $35/year (I insure it through my regular home/auto insurance provider).

Thanks for starting this thread. My Fiance and I are looking into insuring my ring (way over due). That link is very helpful!

Its almost 60 for the year for my e-ring with Jewler’s Mutual.  Renter’s insurance wouldn’t have covered the full value for mine.  I didn’t bother to insure my wedding band because it is just plain white gold and I could replace it at cost easily.

$93 per year through Jewelers Mutual for my set. We didn’t add FI’s since we could replace it easily (it was only $50)

Mine is $100/year.  With my insurance company, they based it not only on the value of the ring, but also where I live.  I live in Los Angeles so I think I probably pay more than I would if I lived in a smaller town.  I haven’t added my wedding band but don’t know if I will… it is just a plain white gold band so it wasn’t that expensive.
