I don’t believe I paid anything for ours. We purchased 4 dresses from Dressilyme and was not charged anything outside of shipping.

I wasn’t home to pick up my dress today but FedEx left their “we tried to deliver” notice. I live in Canada, my dress was CAD 200 with custom fit, underskirt and express shipping it came to 300 dollars. It looks like import duties and taxes will be almost 50 dollars (48 something). I’m surprised at the amount, before I ordered I checked the forum for duty and tax charges from dressilyme (so I would know how to budget) and bees from Canada and US posted that they weren’t charged anything outside price of the order + shipping. It ended up costing me more than my veil 🙁 Bees, when you are ordering, make sure you put aside portion of your dress budget not only for shipping and/or alterations but also for import duties and taxes, they come up to A LOT! (at least for me it is a lot)

@cupcake.gurl I had the same problem. 🙁 I am an American who lives in Sweden so I order stuff from the USA allllll the time. I never get hit with fees unless it’s Fedex or UPS, who charge an “import fee” of about $50 on any order, in addtion to whatever customs thinks you should pay.

DHL, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to charge a fee. YMMV.

My experience is that FedEx charges a brokerage fee, I would always get hit with a charge. Now I only buy stuff shipped regular post or DHL.
