I think no stone is too big or too small. It’s all personal preference and after all, only your relationship to your love is important.
I’m just interessted in your opinions! How much finger coverage do you personally prefer? Pics very welcome! 🙂

Mines 39% and I love it. I voted up a bracket though because its borderline and if I had to choose, I’d go up and not down 🙂
heres mine…. It’s a 0.81 on a size 5

acb123: Wow, gorgeous ring! It looks awesome on your finger. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

My ring gives me about 75% finger coverage, my center Stone + halo measure a little over 11mm and im a size 3.5. But I wouldn’t mind having a little more coverage later in life 🙂

My ring is 40 percent coverage! It’s about as big as I can stand. Love seeing bigger rings on other women, but I don’t know how they can wear that without knocking it around, catching it in their hair, etc.

I suppose I’m 100% since I’m a stacker girl!

I like there to be a proportionate balance so it appears skin, rock, skin. It looks understated and classic to me. This is why I discouraged 2 carats or a halo. 1 1/2 solitare was/is my sweet spot! I wouldn’t mind a fat honker of a diamond ring as an old lady though. We’ll see how life goes haha. This is 47ish% coverage.

I never ring or stone shopped with any thought about finger coverage. Realistically, me preferring 60% coverage wouldn’t matter anyway, as I prefer a solitaire, have a size 7 finger, and a 4 carat diamond simply is not in the budget. I’ve seen very large (“full coverage”) rings and very small rings that look fantastic, so I am not sure finger coverage comes into play much when determining the prettiest ring. Mine is about 47%, too.

Great thread idea! I look forward to seeing the pics and stats that follow.. 🙂

I’m not really sure what mine counts as because of the baguettes. It’s a 2.4ct old mine cut diamond on a 4.5 finger.

Mine is at 52% but I voted down a bracket to 50% because if I had to get another, I’d go down rather than up. This is the largest I’d ever go for me personally, so I am very happy my band is thin and low profile.

Mine’s about 52%. I could def go smaller and still be a happy camper. I find that more “coverage” makes my fingers look shorter/stubbier because you can’t see enough finger underneath which tends to elongate. I call it the capri effect.

TheGridMonster: lol! So THAT’S my problem!!! Good call!

According to the chart, mine is around 40%. I honestly wouldn’t want to go any bigger – I like the way my stone looks on my hand…not too big, not too small.
(However, I do love seeing larger stones on others! :D)

Sorry for forgetting 55 – 60%! Hope you can decide between the other options.
I’m a size 6,5 and i really can’t decide on a center stone size. I kind of love everything between 0.2 and 2 ct. Guess i have to test what feels best for me! 😀
Thanks to everyone for voting and posting pics!
