I recently bought a Vera wang white dress from David’s bridal and have my first fitting in March (eeeeeek!), but wondered if any bees had paid for alterations at David’s, and if so how much it cost? I’ll be going to a CanadIan branch and getting the hips taken in, a bustle added and maybe some buttons sewn down the back (do they do that? ).

the only thing i needed (thank goodness!!) was for the dress to get bustled. for a 9pt bustle they charged me $78.. the alteration woman told me the basic 3pt bustles started at $45 and went up.. they originally told me it was going to be 7pts but it ended up being 9 and they didnt charge me any extra.. my poor sisters are gonna have a fun time with that lol.. good thing its color coded under there!

I had to take mine in on the sides from my rib cage down. I also had my dress bustled. Overall, alterations were about $200, but that was after using a coupon for $50 off.
If you can avoid getting it hemmed, do! A hem alone is $150.
