I’m in Cincinnati and that seems about right. My hair will be about $150 and my makeup is $225. Both include trials and the makeup is airbrush with the option for lashes. Hair will be $65 for bridesmaids and makeup is $75.

I was ok with the prices for myself, but I also felt it was a lot for my bridesmaids to pay. I also have made it optional for them. I haven’t told them yet, but I’m probably going to pick up the cost for makeup. My MUA requires payment in one check and I would feel weird asking my bridesmaids to pay me. I think it will be part of their “gift” for being in the wedding and I’ll get them something else small as well.

In Louisville. I live here and that seems like a lot!! So youre saying for hair and makeup for bride only could be 300?! I think $150 would be a normal price for those services. I dont know where your getting your hair and makeup done though, or if they are coming to your room. If you know where the event is I may know of a couple salons near by.

That being said, I am not getting married in Louisville. We are getting married in Key West but my hair and airbrush makeup are $165 together. And the most I saw in Key West was like 250 for both, and they are crazy on prices.

annainweddingland:  Ouch! Maybe it’s the area you live in, that sounds very expensive. I’m expecting to pay $110 for hair AND make up application. I live in a smaller town though. Maybe you could drive out to a smaller town if there is one? The nearest town to me is about 30 minutes and that wouldn’t be a bad drive for me. It all depend on what you consider too far to drive, but I’d look into that. Or maybe a cosmotology student at the local community college/beauty school if you are really on a budget. I’ve gotten my hair cut from a girl there before and she did a nice job.

annainweddingland:  I live in LA and i am paying $130 for both hair and makeup, combined. Bridesmaids/moms are $80 each for both. Now, I definitely had to look for that (and actually, a helpful Bee gave me the girl’s name) but even for LA, your amount seems pricey to me. Maybe post in your local area (wedding location local) here on the bee and see if anyone has suggestions?

annainweddingland:  Yeah that is way more expensve than what I am being charged. No idea what my hair is going to cost me since a hair stylist is going to be a really good family friend who has known my fiance since he was a baby so she would prob charge at least $60 totally less than $100.

My make up artist was really nice she is going to only charge me $75 for airbrush or $85 with false eye lashes. This doesn’t include tip and no extra charge for coming to my venue and she is only doing my make up.

I found out that if you actually have a weekday wedding things tend to be cheaper. If I were to have my wedding on a sat or sun. My make up would prob cost way more than $100 not including tip.

annainweddingland:  285 for bride with hair and make up plus trial with false lashes and 110 for Bridesmaid or Best Man hair and make up or 65 for one services,  flower girl hair is 30. I live in Arizona and this was the best price i found without losing the quality of makeup and experienced make up artist. Anything cheaper looked horrible and well anything more expensive was not in my budget.
