@lilwatts2015:  that’s a good point, but I don’t think we’ll want to do two photo shoots. We’re already going to do two with my mom (two locations). I’d probably see if I can just get a wedding-only package.

We found our rings today and we’ve worked out a payment plan. That’s another thing off the list.

We just booked our caterer today who will also be providing all the centerpieces, linens, and othe things for the reception. We also have decided on our venue, but can’t book it yet. Just waiting for them to start bookings for 2015.

@Tarheelgurl:  That’s brilliant. We are in the same boat we can’t book yet either because the 2015 aren’t released yet.

@Tarheelgurl:  that’s good news. So are you going to book soon? 

We still need to wait for the officiant to release the 2015 dates. The venue won’t draw up a contract without the officiant’s confirmation. It’s okay though because it gives us more time to get the deposit for the venue. 

I did buy two things to decorate the reception yesterday though, a cute birdcage for our cards and a wooden “Just Married” sign. The wedding purchases have officially begun.

@Soon2BD-CBee:  Our venue only offers 5 hours for everything, unless we buy extra hours. So we’re going to talk to FI’s uncle (aka our photographer) to see how much time we should budget for photos. And then we’ll know how much time we need and will be booking ASAP. I’m really excited too because I just started on an early mockup of invites while Michaels was having a 25% off sale this week.

 

That sucks you can’t book until the officiant says they are available. We haven’t even figured out who will be officiating our wedding yet, so you’re ahead of us in that department.

@Tarheelgurl:  that’s cool about your invites. My mum made us a test invite this weekend. I love it. It is a map shaped butterfly with pearl hearts on wire for antenna. My mum is so talented…she when got the arsty bug and made some heart shaped map confetti and a mock up paper flower corsages for my bm’s – all in one afternoon. 

What do your invites look like?

I bought a wedding planning book today so I can tick things off and stick to a timetable of when to do things by. We also found a shop that does the wedding suits Fiance loves.  We can’t order until October ’14 as suggested by the shop assistant for ordering purposes. I also found some really gorgeous bm dresses. It’s way too early though. We then decided on my wedding day perfume! We also chatted together about what we’d put on our registry & where to honeymoon. I love department stores.

@Chateaux:  I actually don’t have anything booked yet. We’ve been engaged for about 5 weeks, but I was taking summer grad school classes and super busy. I have the next month off, so my plan is to start looking for a venue. We hope to have that booked by the end of September, and also book a photographer. A lot of the smaller details we won’t really worry about until next year/after I graduate next Spring.
