So the venue I’m very interested in booking offers a full package for guests for $145 per person. This includes 4 hours of open bar, hors d’oeuvres, plated/buffet dinner, and cake. Is that a pretty normal price? This is located in a sort of high end ski resort town. I’m only having 50-60 guests so it shouldn’t be too bad (my budget is $10k-$15K total), but I was hoping to pay somewhere like $70 pp. How much is everyone else paying p/p?

Is that amount including tax and gratuity? If not you’ll need to factor in atleast 20% for gratuity and then whatever the tax rate is.
We paid $75 p/person including tax and gratuity. Our package included 5 hours of limited open bar (beer, wine, soda), champagne toast, cocktail hour with butler passed hor d’oeurves and stationed apps and a formal sit down dinner with choice of chicken, beef or vegetarian (including a salad course). We were married at a popular resort in a tourist town.

@UpstateCait: That’s a pretty good price. I haven’t found anything like that here for a full package :(. Yea the 145 doesn’t include the 22% service charge + 9% tax.

My venue includes 5 hours of open bar, champagne toast, cocktail hour with both stationary and butler passed hors d’oeuvres, formal sit down dinner, and cake cutting (cake not included) and before tax and gratuity its $85 per person. After tax and gratuity it comes to somewhere around $107 per person.
All of the venues we looked at were between $85 and $130 per person. We ended up choosing this venue because it accomodated the most amount of people since we’re having a pretty large wedding of about 200 people. Since you’re only having 50-60 guests, I’d say that the package you’re looking at is pretty average for a high end venue.
