@soontobemrsm11:  Since you say it’s within your SO’s budget and you’ve got the money, just look at it this way: If you live another 50 years (not sure how old you are or what the current life expectancy is), that extra $1500 comes out to less than $0.09 per day. Will you get 9 cents worth of joy per day looking at the ring you love? If so, there’s your justification. … Now, if you had to beg, borrow, or steal the $1500, my answer would be different, but if you’ve got it…. why not?

Money spend on anything frivolous that is not a basic necessity of life could always be put to better use.  Dining out, getting nails done, that shirt or pants you didn’t really need.  If it’s within budget and you love it, just go for it.  More money can always be made.  My e-ring was less than 5% of what we had in savings.

@Daisy_Mae:  that’s a great way to look at it.

@soontobemrsm11:  go for it.  you have the money for it and you wanted the larger size.

I don’t know how much Fiance spent on my ring, but I’d say if the ring is within budget, which it is, go for it!  $1,500 in the long run isn’t that much…if you don’t go shopping or out to eat for a while, you’ll make it back in no time.  I like Daisy’s justification 🙂
