So my dress came in and I tried on some different belts with it. I fell hard for a beautiful belt by a designer I love but then I saw the price tag… $475! Im pretty thrifty so that price tag hurt….So my question is how much is too much? What did you spend and did you think it was worth it? Currently going through the battle of heart vs. head!

The belt I tried on at the boutique was around that. Found one on etsy very similar for $45. I wouldn’t spend more than $50 tbh.

$475 sounds like a lot! I believe mine was in the area of $150 which was also a lot! You just have to decide if it feels worth it.

$475 sounds like a lot to me too…Mine was $250, which I thought was a lot…lol…do you have a picture? I would love to see a $475 belt!! 🙂

ct2015 : It does sound like a lot right?! Here is the close up of it. It just brings out the beauty of the dress and brings my look together. I am sure I can find something similar on Etsy but I am worried that they just wont be as beautiful in person as online…

It’s definitely pretty, but honestly, I think you are getting ripped off – the bead work doesn’t go all the way around…I don’t know if I would trust getting something off Etsy (most of the stuff I have bought off Etsy isn’t very “high quality”), but I would probably keep looking – I think you could get something VERY similar at probably at least half the price…

I wanted a bow belt and tried the designer one on and then tried to get it recreated and no one could really get that look. So I got the designer one – I had a tiny dress budget and it cost nearly as much as the dress and veil!
that said, with the diamanté ones there are some really fabulous ones on etsy that I’ve seen bees post.
so if you don’t get hung up on very specific detail on that belt and go for the overall look you’ll definitely find some beauts.

mrsnitti17 : there are amazing belts on etsy. Take a look at the reviews to check for quality.

no more than 50 bucks. It’s some rhinestones stuck on a piece of satin, for heaven’s sake

You can find a lot very similar to that on Etsy for at least an 8th of that price. $500 for a belt is ridiculous!

$475 is too much for that belt. It is a unique color so something similar may be hard to find. You could find one another bride is selling on line.

$475 is way too much for a belt imo. There are tons of nice ones on etsy that are much more reasonably priced. I personally wouldn’t spend more than $50 for one.

The one I’m leaning towards is $200 and I think that’s ridiculous.

Only you can decide how much is too much to spend for a belt. That one though, I think you can get something similar for cheaper or spend that amount and get something better. I’m love with Helena Noelle belts but they are more than I want to spend. Check out her stuff though, I think you will like it. She has a regular website and an esty site but here is her instagram.

I bought a belt for $400. My mum almost had a heart attack when she saw the price, but it’s what I was expecting because it has Swarovski crystals on it. I wasn’t hugely happy with the price, but my dress came in under budget and I wasn’t able to find something similar (I live in Australia so that may have had something to do with it). I’ll most likely sell my dress after the wedding, so I’ll sell the belt with it.
