well i didnt read the part about flying in from town….normally i’d pay anything under $200, but the closer to $150 the better.  also, if you can give some kind of contribution towards the dress or hotel room, as a bridesmaid, i’d appreciate that much more than a material gift i’m going to have to lug home with me and might not like anyways.

I’m leaving this up to my bridesmaids.  I was trying to keep the costs below $100 but they all said if the dress they love is 150-200 then that’s fine with them.  I also have a bridesmaid with a baby bump to accommodate.  She’ll be almost nine months at the wedding so she has less flexibility in choices and realizes that.

What about letting her wear that dress, since she is the Maid/Matron of Honor adn finding a cheaper dress for the other ladies, if you’re concerned about it

It totally depends on your BMs financial situation and how comfortable they are with the price. Ask them!

To me it depends on if they can wear them again.  If not because it’s not their style or whatever, I’d say yes…primarily because they also have to pay for flights.  If they didn’t have flights I’d say that’s about normal…my MOH’s dress was $190…but I paid for it.

    Maybe you can help out?

I would talk to them about it. See how they feel. If it’s too much, you can find a more affordable substitute!

The dress my girls bought was originally 180 and then we found it on perfectbridal.com for 130 so it was fine. Well turns out that some of them are paying close to $100 for alterations!!! ๐Ÿ™ I dont think $170 is too much

PS – 5 of my 7 girls are flying to my wedding

My dresses were about $150 and 1/2 of my bridal party had to fly or drive long distances. I would say $170 is still reasonable.

Generally I’m okay with paying up to $200 for a bridesmaid dress, but the cheaper the better because I’ll likely never wear it again.  I voted “maybe” because it depends on your girls’ financial situations.  Ask them if they’re comfortable with $170.  If they aren’t, and you’re set on all of them wearing that dress, maybe you can contribute to the cost.

I voted maybe because it really depends on what your BMs can afford. I’m ok with anything up to 250.
