We usually spend over $2k on Christmas gifts.  It sucks.  Every year I say we’re going to cut back but it never works.

We are really cutting back this year. We feel it’s become so Comercialized that our kids are losing the meaning of it. We will probably spend  $100. Instead we are planning on going on a trip. Oldest sons bday is November, youngest is January so we are combining.

We settled on $350 this week. It’s our first married Christmas and we are both in school, so it will be a tight Christmas for us. We’ve been saving week by week since our wedding date and that is the amount we’ve come up with. It may go up by $100 in a few weeks, if things go well. We are buying for both of our parents, my two siblings, each other, and a few friends. I’m just so relieved that we actually have some money to buy presents with!

I LOVE giving gifts, maybe even too much, that we spend about $1500 (not including what my husband gets for me). I shop early and get good deals though so it is not a hard hit all at once and I get a lot for the amount of money. I also really like themes so all parts of my theme gifts add up. We dont have large families at all so we just shop for my parents, his mom, two grandmothers, his niece, and a handful of close friends.

I am very excited about giving gifts this year! We got extra thoughtful gifts that I hope everyone loves!

We’re trying to stick to $1000 and that includes our four kids plus five nieces and nephews and two mothers (our dads get nothing bc they buy whatever they want for themselves anyway).

Way too much.  I voted between $1000-2000.  I bought my dad a smart tv ($560) plus piad of half of his glasses ($230) so that over $800 right there.  Unfortunatley my dad is on a fixed income so I usually buy him big ticket items or things he need on christmas or his birthday.

I’ve spent about $160 on my husband, about $200 on friends and I probably have another $200 that i need to spend before its all said and done. But I am very excited about all the gifts and the fact that I have the means to give them.

i love christmas gifting, but Fiance and i aren’t exchanging. we’re wedding broke!

we’ll probably spend $200 on his family (niece and parents)

my fam does secret santa which is really fun – there’s 7 of us, and we pick names on thanksgiving and set a $50 budget and exchange on christmas eve. we did it last year and it was great.

Thankfully both mine and fiance’s families want to do no gifts this year because of our wedding coming up.  I do have to buy a gift for my brother’s wedding in December and I’ve been talking to Dear Fiance about us just buying something together as our Christmas gift so I think I’ll spend around $300 – $400 on gifts in December.  This is only our second Christmas together but I think jointly we spent about $1,000 last year.

We probably wont spend over $400-500 this year. We are actually scaling back this year. We just got married a month ago, so we’re pretty tapped out.

I’ve never really budgeted of kept track of how much I spend on Christmas. I tend to spend around $50 for friends, around $100 for family, and somewhere between $100-$500 for immediate family (parents, siblings, fiance). If I had to guess I would say this amounts to between $1,500 and $2,500 total.

Probably around $500… I don’t have many people to gift. Plus my budget is really tight since I’ve had to pay for all the wedding expenses this month. My future in-laws said not to get them anything since they know we’re paying for most of the wedding which was really nice of them. I’ve spent $150 for my Mom. $300 for my sisters. $100 for my future husband.

I’ll be buying TONS of X-mas decor with my husband the day after Christmas this year since we want to stock up for our new apartment for next Christmas. 🙂

This year it was $550.  We’re taking a real nice, weeklong family vacaton so we wanted the majority of the money to go to that.  So I budgeted $100 for each of our kids (we have 4).  $20 each for bil’s kids.  $20 for teachers.  And then $50 for bil and his wife.  And then $40 for mil and fil.

This was a really good year for gifts.  I got some really nice, thoughtful presents. We did awesome with the budget (or I should I did awesome).  I started shopping for my kids early, like in September and I got them pretty much everything they wanted.

We don’t have a budget, which is bad. I have been  spending like crazy. I love giving gifts. My husband has asked me to stop spending so much to no avail. In my defense, I have my first real job and I am loving having the money to spend graciously this year. I do not spend money the rest of the year except  for food and other small essentials.

Originally budget was $400, but it’ll probably be around $550-600 after it’s all said and done
