This probably isn’t what you want to hear because I got mine the day Fiance came back into town and picked it up.  I told him when he ordered it he better not let that expensive thing sit in his apartment and it worked.  Hope you get yours soon!!!

Ah! I’m so sorry! Honestly there really is no way to tell. I’ve been ring shopping with my guy and my wait is going to be at least 6 more months. We went ring shopping for the first time months and months ago, about 5 to be exact! So, for my guy, ring shopping doesn’t mean he’s going to do it. I think it just means he’s curious and wants to see what’s out there. I thinks he’s gathering information for a day far away when he needs it. There are a lot of steps that a guy takes before he proposes. Pick out a ring, save up $$$ for the ring, buy ring, plan perfect proposal, make proposal happen. I may be forgetting some steps, but for some reason this is the one thing most guys can’t keep simple. lol

I finally gave up being nonchalant and gave him a “deadline” by August 24, my 26th birthday. I think you need to just explain to him that all of the planning an elaborate proposal and making you wait for some random time is really hard on you and it’s not fair to tease you.

Just keep in mind that they don’t do it to be mean, they do it because they want it to be so special for their ladies 🙂

@sherryberry: I wish! lol

Mine is just dragging his feet! I know when he’s ready he’s going to take an unusually long time to plan it too. *sigh* lol

Maybe I’m the minority but now that I know my Boyfriend or Best Friend has a ring, bough the setting and had the stone we picked out together set in it and it’s at home I really don’t care when he gives it to me.

I feel like “waiting” is over, I’m just continuing with planning my wedding.

Wonder if any of the others girls have felt this way, or maybe it’s just that in the back of my mind I know we’re getting married either this year of the next, and it all isnt’ too far off so there is a set boundry.

I hope all of you gals that know your significant others have a ring gets yours very soon and hopefully the wait will be worth it

I wish there was a definitive timeframe for going ring shopping and actually getting the proposal. Then I wouldn’t be such an emoitional wreck at times. The first time SO and I went ring shopping was 9 months ago….then again 7 months ago and I’m STILL WAITING. The sad part is I don’t feel like we’re any closer than when we went ring shopping initially. I guess to SO’s credit he was laid off for about 3 months out of the last 9 with no income. Yet even within those other 6 months I don’t think he really saved, put the ring on layaway (at least), nothing. I will say that my patience has gotten shorter and I don’t plan on waiting past our 4 year anniversary which is about 4 months away. That’s 1 year and 1 month after our intial ring shopping experience. If that isn’t enough time I don’t know what is.

it depends on his reason for waiting- my Fiance and I went ring looking in late November. Between November and December, there were melt downs, which I finally gave way to Mr. Bee’s plan because regardless- my SO wasn’t going to have any money until income tax refund time. Our relationship went back to how it was – great minus the waiting drama and after he got the refund check in February- he didn’t disappoint. So for me it was 3 months and that was only because he didn’t have money for a ring at the time so having a meltdown wouldn’t have gotten that ring to me any faster.

from when we went ring shopping, i waited exactly one year!  just when i couldnt take it anymore and started being more blunt that i was tired of waiting, he proposed that night. he actually led to me believe he STILL had not even purchased the ring and i was afraid it would go out of stock, but i got it the same weekend as my bday.

@SandAndSea: if he bought the ring I can’t see why he isn’t ready.  I wish I knew what goes on in guys’ heads.   I may just ask my fiance and see if he has any thoughts.

Do you have a special occasion coming up? Maybe he’s waiting for that?
