    To me, marriage doesn’t require a bunch of savings unless you’re paying for a standard wedding. You should have savings before major purchases like a car, house, or children, but marriage itself doesn’t inherently mean anything in relation to savings. It’s simply the precursor to things that do require savings.

    I have about 12k in savings fiance has about 30k. He also has a house and rental house. We plan on keeping the cost of the wedding below 7000 not including rings and honeymoon. We live in North Carolina, and will be able to have a nice wedding without spending a fortune fortunately for us.
