So are you counting 401Ks? If so, it’s way better for me than if you don’t. Haha! And I’m OLD.

    We are 25 and 24

We have just over $20k in our savings. We paid off all our debt minus my car payment and our home. We plan on getting a new car soon, so decided to just keep payments rather than paying off. We will be paying cash for our next vehicle and will then be left with just our home as our debt.

Husband has just over $5k in his 401k and I have about $5k in my IRA account; it was from my job I recently quit but plan to hopefully contribute to it more just haven’t really thought about it until this post!

We are 25 & 26, we have about $25K saved up – most of which is FI’s because he has a much better job than I do! Fiance has a small amount of student loan debt (about $3K) and I don’t have any debt.

We are 26 and 28, have about 110K in savings, I don’t know what 401K’s are really (Canadian here) but we have company pension plans and have about 10k in RRSPs. All debt paid off minus our mortgage, which we could technically pay off (we put 45% down on our house)

    I’m 25. I currently have $4,700 in savings,

As far as debts, I have 5k left on my car loan (with about 1.5 years of payments left) and 12k in student loans which will get paid off God knows when. :'( I’m looking to get another 5k in my savings account before I start paying off my debts more aggressively.

I didn’t count my 401K in the poll, which would be an additional $7k.

Edit: I’m not quite sure how much Fiance has in savings right now, but I know it’s over 10k. He has no debts, but has had some medical issues that have created a hefty sum of bills this year. We are going to be merging our finances this summer.

25, have more than 60 in savings and close to 60 between my 401k and Roth IRA. About 1/2 of my savings is ‘untouchable’ – meaning only to be used for emergencies. The other half is what I plan on investing/honeymoon money but I’m lazy on both fronts… haha

Oh right, debts- I have my mortgage, but I’m about to sell my place and move in with Fiance, so then- none!

25, have a bit over $5,000 in a savings account, another $5,000 in bonds, and $10,000 from a recently closed childhood life insurance policy that I have yet to figure out where to put, so about $20,000 total. Only debt is my car loan, and I owe about $10,000 on that.

ughhh this is making me feel bad LOL!

We have about 4K in savings ( we had a 5K dog surgey,  house renovations and of course the wedding, then we also took a vacation) in the last 1.5 years so we got a little behind. We own our own home and have two paid off cars.

If you are counting 40ks ( pls do) we have $36K which makes me feel a lot better about my financial situation lol. Im 27.

We have a short term financial goal to have 10K saved up by this july which I think we will hit, then I will feel better about life

I think it would be interesting to put also if you have bought a house and your amount of savings, along with age.

We are late 20s. We have about $140k in savings and investments. Our retirement accounts add another $300k.

We are debt free except for two mortgages, which run us a combined $1100 a month. We are lucky enough to be able to save like crazy.

Wow I feel like an under achiver here. We have about $4,000 right now in savings, more if you include 401K but I don’t since I won’t be touching that anytime soon.

In the last 12 months we: bought a home, renovated said home, had an unexpected expense come up while renovating, needed a new car for husband. So yeah, I’ve dipped into the savings account more than I would like but that’s life.

I’m 27 and husband is 31. We have 60k in savings. And over 140k combined in our 401ks. I didn’t put down our 401ks in the poll though. We have about 1k on our credit card, our mortgage, and two car payments. Our savings took a huge hit a few years back because we paid for the wedding in full and we also put $50k  down on our house.

Question how are the late 20s bees saving so much or have so much in savings? how do you not have student loans, do parents contribute or are you in a really low cost of living area? Been on east coast for past ten years with graduate JD degrees and no way do we have that much saved much less houses.  For the 25 somethings how do you have so much u savings ?

Fiance is 26 and I am 25. We have saved about 65k combined, not including RRSP (I don’t know how much Fiance has in his RRSP lol). We don’t have a mortgage and currently only have 1 car with payments.

I’m 24 have 30k saved and have like 35k in student loans 😞. I would pay it off but I do get the tax benefit and I feel more secure with something in the bank
