I got $100 off my dress because I went to a bridal show and was given a coupon.

I agree, some bridal shows give out coupons.  You can also buy a sample dress or a dress from a cancelled order.  Those may be cheaper

10% during a trunk show. But if not I would have bartered as well 😛

I bought my dress when there was a trunk show. I got 15% off.

Mine was about $100 off at DB (sale dress, discontinued style I think). I was actually kind of disappointed that the dresses showcased at the expo I went to weren’t very discounted (highest was $100 off, as PP mentioned); they had a lot of buy-it-today, get X off sales.

Mine was a sample sale, but I ended up getting the dress, veil, and earrings for 25% less than what they had marked on just the dress…but I go with the “If you don’t ask, you don’t get” mentality.  Just try…the worst they can do is say no, right?

I got 15% off because I brought to their attention that I found the same dress elsewhere for cheaper. They wanted to keep my business so they gave me the discount.

I saved over 30% because I told them that I could get it somewhere else for cheaper, which they verified and also told me that instead of 20% off of the accessories and bridesmaids dresses in the store that they would give me 25% off.

My dress was on clearance, marked down from $1200 to $499. Luckily right now it fits perfectly & won’t need altered.

@sagbride:

I scored my gown at 50% off. I tried it on and told them I wanted to think about it, and then I learned it was discontinued. I called them back to let them know and asked what they could do. Sure never hurts to ask, especially on the sample gown!

I paid full price for the dress, but got my alterations free because I let them know I found the dress for about $1000 cheaper at a boutique out of state.

I got my dress 75% off because the woman doesn’t sell dresses anymore and she had mine left over. I got 10% off my bridesmaids dresses at Priscilla of Boston, they said they’d give 15-20% had I gotten my dress there too.
