    Oh, I didn’t read the poll correctly, I voted for how much we contributed. We probably paid for 85% of the wedding on our own.

    We paid right around $10k, maybe slightly more.  My parents paid about $13k.  $23k total.

    That includes everything except honeymoon, which we sadly missed because I lost all my vacation hours at work.

    I bought things/paid deposits as we went along and we just saved up over the year so we had enough for my balances at the end.  My parents and I split it up by vendor, basically.

    @littlemisst08:  I was about to type the same thing. I double checked to make sure I read it correctly, but I bet the results are very skewed

    Our wedding budget is about $35000, and my fiance and I are paying $10000. We also have about $5000 wiggle room – a decision to buy the bar at the last freakin’ minute. Urg.

    @freshflowers:  Your title question & poll question are opposite.  Please clarify.

    @IowaDDS13:  Yeah, I’m still confused by that poll.  I probably voted wrong.

    @freshflowers:  We spent $48K total.  $15K was a gift from my dad that we knew about up front when we were planning.  At the wedding, we ended up getting almost $17K in cash gifts.  So overall, our net loss was a little over $16K.

    I am very lucky to have my parents contributing $30k.  I doubt our wedding will cost more than that, so they will be paying for the entire wedding.  The only things Fiance and I will be paying for ourselves are: rings, gifts for our parents/wedding party, FI’s suit, engagement photos, and food tastings.  I’m extremely grateful that my family can contribute this much and that they’re happy to do it.

    I wish we had some help. My mom has said she’ll pay for the alcohol, but so far she hasnt come through with that, so at this point we’re having a dry wedding. My dad also said he would contribute some, but he backed out. So right now its 100% on us. And neither of us has a credit card, so its all out of pocket.

    Our wedding is going to cost about $13k total and I’m paying about $5k of that. My parents are putting in $7k, Future Mother-In-Law $1k towards the wedding and she’s also paying for the rehearsal dinner. We are not doing a honeymoon, we’re putting a down payment on a house instead. So I’m paying for the wedding and Fiance is saving for the downpayment. 🙂

    We paid nothing for our wedding, however, the total cost of it was $1,000….from start to finish.  Our honeymoon to Fiji, which was the “gift” for being so very frugal and easy going about our nuptuals, was $12,000…and financed by my parents.

    @Treejewel19:  +1

    Same here, we’re paying ourselves and when its all said and done it will be a 6 figure shebang.
