My mom paid for about 75% of it, we paid the rest of the wedding.

My Grandma sprung for the Honeymoon

@freshflowers:  My mom is paying for the wedding (ballpark 30k). FI’s parents are paying for about 3/4 of our honeymoon ($6500) plus the rehearsal dinner. Each also hosted a party (FI’s parents had an engagement party at their house in September, my mom is throwing a bridal shower at her house in March). We paid for the remainder of the honeymoon (around $3-4000) and our rings.

My parents paid for the food and alcohol and half of our photographer, and I’m guessing that total was between $6 and $8k.

My husband and I paid for everything else – venues, officiant, invites, decor, flowers, dress, tux, rings — and that was about $4 – 5K.

@freshflowers:  When our wedding is all said and done it will cost $20,000 or so. My parents gave us $5,000 and they paid for my wedding invitations. We have paid/are paying for everything else.

@freshflowers:  Our wedding was about $14k.  My mom paid for $3K.  We paid for the rest.

We did get a very nice monetary gift from my dad the night of the wedding, but we paid for everything for our wedding on our own before the wedding.  We paid all cash- no credit cards or financing or whatever.  The only thing we didn’t pay for before the wedding was our bar tab- which was given to us the week after the wedding by our venue!

@freshflowers:  I love money stuff too!  LOL

How did you pay for your wedding and honeymoon?

We paid for all of it ourselves.  All the money for a $15k wedding was sitting in checking (originally we had a Jackson Hole wedding in the works).  My H basically saved all of it while being a bachelor!  Our Destination Wedding elopement ended up costing $7k with the trip and wedding and everything.

How much did your wedding cost? And did you pay yourself, or get help?

The wedding and everything related to it (photographer, officiant, our attire, H’s ring, cake, dinner, champagne) came to $3300 with photography being $1260 of it.  The 11 day weddingmoon (aka the vacation we got married on) cost us $3700 – for 10 nights, all food, all gas.  It was a 2500 mile road trip.  It was a blast!

I basically bought my invitation paper, accesories, and little odds and ends, so not much. Maybe $200 worth of stuff.

But Fiance and I are paying for our reception, which will cost around $800.

We also paid for our own honeymoon, so another $1500.

@freshflowers:  my dad is giving us some money and FH’s parents are giving us some money – about 20% of the total budget combined…but right now we’re over budget so we’re paying for more than 80% ourselves – I just realized I voted wrong in your poll – oops!

100%. While my parents asked how much I needed/ wanted, we refused. We’re grown ups and are choosing to pay for this ourselves.

    I voted 80-100%

Our wedding is costing around $20,000 – my mother is purchasing [some] alcohol, probably $300 worth or so.

@freshflowers:  We are planning on doing it 100% but my mom paid for our month of / day of planner. My in-laws have also offered up a non-specific ‘chunk of change’ to go to the wedding. These things were all unplanned and very appreciated. 🙂

Our wedding will be about $18-20k when all is done, and we are paying for about 90% of it ourselves. We did get a couple of small contributions from parents and inlaws

@freshflowers:  Depends what you count. Excluding the rings and honeymoon we’re contributing about 3k; with the rings and honeymoon that shoots up to about 11.5k. My parents are paying for the bulk of it though; around 22k.
