Pretty straight forward. 🙂 I put it in Bridesmaids, but really it’s Bridesmaids & Groomsmen.
How much did everyone spend on their wedding party gifts. on average?
I split it between Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen, also see the Other categories.
Please tell what you got them too!

Both were over $100 for everything included.
I made the girls movie night baskets that included…
- Bridesmaids DVD
- Gourmet popcorn
- Comfy throw blanket (to match their respected living rooms)
- Comfy PJ pants (that I tried to match to the blanket)
- Bottle of wine from the winery where we did a tasting for my bach. party
- All packaged in nice burlap lined baskets
The guys got…
- Glass beer mugs etched with their initials
- 40 oz. of specialty beer that they’d each like
- $50 gift card to Best Buy
- Tie for the wedding (DHs parents actually paid for these but we included them with their gifts)

@UpstateCait: Your Bridesmaid or Best Man gift is so good! I’m working on mine, and so far I have ordered tote-size bags that are personalized with their first names on them, a custom ring, and earrings for each of my BMs. The tote seemed appropriate because 2 of them are teachers and the other works in a school, plus I got one for my flower girl as well. What little kid doesn’t love personalized stuff? I’m still working on other things to fill the bag with.
For our guys, so far we’ve decided we’re going to get custom cufflinks for them. We found a really cool website (cuffconnection.com) that has all kinds of different ones on it. Fiance hasn’t really committed to anything else for the guys yet.

The rule I used was their gifts should cost as much as they were each spending on our wedding. My girls each got a customized gift bag, necklaces to wear for the wedding, and then something additional for each girl (all different things) – I ended up spending about $150-$200 per girl. The groomsmen all got Rayban sunglasses, about $160 each.

I am still working on my bridesmaid’s gifts… but my Fiance got his groomsmen nice RC Helicopters — lol. They are all kind of dorky guys and will love them.

@pengoala: That’s a good way to look at it. I imagine that would be quite costly if there were lots of Wedding Party members! Glad I only have 3 girls. Lol.

@pengoala: Agghh that seems like a lot! But 3 of my BMs moms are paying for their dresses, and the other two, I’m giving them like half of the cost of the dress. Decisions decisions…

@redheadem: I think in that case it’s different, for sure. Maybe shoot for the $50 range?

I spent about $50 on each of my four bridesmaids. I got them a jewelry set, flip flops, and a cardigan. Now I got everything on sale though too, so the actual value of the gifts was like $100 but I made sure to take advantage of holiday sales and coupons. For the 3 that are hosting my bridal shower, I’ll also be getting them gifts for that, probably a manicure pedicure or something like that.

My parents bought their dresses and covered our shared hotel rooms, and I asked them to wear black shoes of their own choosing, so they didn’t have to spend much to be in our wedding. Because of this, I didn’t go overboard with a gift. I spent about $25 each, and also picked up feather hairpieces for them, which I don’t really count as a gift since they wore them in the wedding.

We’re spending about $75 per person. I have 5 and he has 5..

- Wedding: September 2011 - Bent Creek Winery (Livermore, California); Reception: Family Residence (San Ramon, California)
My sister (MOH) really didn’t want to get me anything, so I weaseled a gift by paying for her to get her hair done the day of the wedding. Including tip, it was probably about $60/$65. I wanted to get her an actual gift so badly, but she just wouldn’t hear of it. My family is all about avoiding “needless” gift giving.

@AmeliaBedelia: Aye, having a wedding is expensive! Am I just realizing this?

@redheadem: It is! And it’s mostly the “little” stuff that we forget about until, well, now. 🙂 Lol.
