I booked my venue back in July, so I am excited that is done.  Now I am working on finding a photographer, then I will be onto a DJ.  Its so frustrating getting vendors to respond to you, Im not sure if they are just unprofessional or its because my wedding is two years away Undecided

Hi ladies!  I have been engaged less than a week, so so far all we’ve done is pick a date, which, of course, is tentative because we haven’t contacted any vendors yet.  I’m kind of a planning nut, so the two year timeline for planning is really confusing to me!  I’m not sure what to do and what to wait for.

I think my next step is going to be to continue to search for ceremony/reception venues.  I’m also trying to come up with a sweet way to ask my girls to be my bridesmaids.

What have you ladies done?

I’ve had enough time to figure out what I want, but I’ve only just starting visiting venues. I’ve only seen one place but I think it’s THE ONE (as you say @bas0587:). I really want to book it already but I feel like I should look at more than one venue before booking.

We booked our venue and Photographer a couple weeks after we got engaged in November last year.  I am gathering decor inspiration now.  I plan on starting dress shopping in the late summer/early fall.

I have been going to all the wedding shows though.  I cant help myself!

We are looking at ceremony/reception venues as of right now.  We have it narrowed down to two.  I am hoping to book this week.  This is our first decision and it is so hard.  I hope it gets easier! Tomorrow night we are going to a bridal show where most of the vendors we plan on using will be.  After that it is on to the photographer.

I’ve been looking at venues but we haven’t booked anything. Based on our budget I’m trying to find something outdoors at a park were we can maybe borrow a picnic shelter or put up a tent, but it’s proving to be quite difficult. Our tentative date is also 10/12/13! I’d like to book a venue by this summer since our date is obviously a popular one 😉

Oh, and me and my sister (MOH) have our dresses, haha!

We got engaged NYE and so our engagement is 10 months long …. so we hit the ground running. We have our venue, which includes ceremony, reception, and all the food. We have also booked the dj, the hair/makeup salon, and the florist. I have ordered my dress, and my BMs are coming in to shop for their dresses in a couple of weeks. I am totally stuck on the photographer and the cake, and I’m seriously wiped out anyway. Ughhhh I don’t want to make any more decisions! Doesn’t that sound awful? lol it’s true though. OH and we’re having our engagement party the first wkd in March, here at the house – we decided to do an all-day drop-in style party, and our friend is doing the catering. Score!

I’m proud of how much we’ve been able to get done, but I’m also exhausted.
