I know it’s happening in the next two months ๐Ÿ™‚ I have an email draft saved of links to resources, dresses, and photographers, as well as a pinterest board. Also researched some venues and vague ideas with SO but that’s about it

I have a date (boyfriend helped pick) and a venue, but only because his aunts owns a gorgeous farm where his family has all their weddings. Other than that I’ve been using pinterest and keeping an eye of dress sales online.  I probably still wouldn’t buy a dress before I got my ring,  but I’m trying to get an idea of styles and price points.  Plus it’s fun to look.

I have most of it totally planned out. It’s fun for me. So much will change once SO and I sit down to plan the real thing together and it’ll likely be a stressful with some head-butting. So I’m going to enjoy the hell out of fake planning while I can.

lol so funny that you posted this because I keep calling what I’ve been doing “preplanning” as well ๐Ÿ˜› I know it’s going to happen fairly soon (like February/March at the latest) and we both want a September 2016 wedding, so I’ve contacted venues and caterers to get pricing. I also know what our colours will be, what style of bridesmaid dresses I want, and what I want the bouquets and centrepieces to look like. I also know what I want on the menu and who’s making our cake & who’s taking our photos. I figured I might as well do all of the big decision-making now while I’m waiting so that I’m not wasting time after it happens, since we’ll have less than a year to plan.

Guys I’m going to say this right now… I did a year and a half of waiting. I preplanned everything!! Then we got engaged, and I didn’t look at a single thing from my preplanning lol the wedding is completely different and it’s own thing and I couldn’t be happier. I’m just saying be prepared that when you do get engaged everything might end up being different! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have actually already bought my dress, picked a date, decided on our color & theme, have narrowed it down between 2 venues, decided on my ladies dresses, flowers, and what our men will wear.

I’ve basically planned our whole wedding in my head…lol Now just waiting on my hardware!

Ha!  I feel like I’ve been relatively good.  I have an inspiration board on Pinterest, I’ve drafted a guest list, and I’ve looked up some potential venues.  Most of the research into venues that I’ve done, though, is to start developing a budget.  I’ve only e-mailed one venue, and that’s because they didn’t have prices listed online (and it turns out they won’t give me any prices unless I set up a meeting, so that will have to wait).  I’m well aware everything might change once I start having plannning convos with my SO, though.

I expect to be engaged by the new year. I have multiple wedding-related boards on Pinterest, have venues, caterers, and photographers bookmarked, and keep an eye on the preowned dress sites for exceptionally good deals since I have very specific and usually expensive wedding gown tastes on a dress budget I hope to keep under $1000. I actually had been speaking to a girl about buying her unworn dress and thought we had a deal, but she got a better offer from someone else so it fell through. I have several different wedding scenarios floating around in my head/on my Pinterest boards, since the style of our wedding will largely depend on how much we are able to trim his mom’s guest list. I anticipate that being the first and most stressful wedding task we tackle after getting engaged.

watergirl569:  He’s fine with it! He actually gave me the money to get my dress. The store was closing and they had my dress marked down from $1500 to $300.

I just know that there is a lot of DIYing I want to do, so the earlier I can get things done the better. Planning for a September 2016 wedding!!! Expecting a proposal by the New Year!

We are hoping to get married April 2017 on our 5 year anniversary after we graduate from college. So I have a long ways to go. I love daydreaming about it but will not do anything other than add to my Pinterest board until we are engaged ๐Ÿ™‚ The only thing I know for sure is that I want to get married in his parents’ backyard.

Got engaged in September this year, getting married April 2017.

However, we booked our venue in August 2014! Over a year before he popped the question!

It’s because we want to get married on our Anniversary which only falls on a weekend in 2016 and 2017. It’s a Sunday in 2017 but the Monday is a Bank Holiday so people will be off work anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

If we hadn’t booked then, I don’t think we’d have gotten the venue!

Before we were engaged, we had a joint Pinterest board and we’d been looking at ideas ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope all of you get your proposals soon! It’s so much fun to make ACTUAL plans! ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve been talking about some of the details for some time. I have a pretty good idea on what I’d like for my e-ring and wedding ring, and a general idea for his (For me :having both be thin plain bands in different colours, ideally our wedding rings would match pretty closely). I would probably go the custom route for a wedding dress, so I’ve started sizing up my options for that. We have started to talk about the reality of self-catering, and what kind of foods we can make to accommodate for his allergies. I know that I wantย as the favors and cake. Unsure of guest list and colour themes, place/venue, time of year, music etc.
