We picked his suit out together.  He wanted my input.  I wouldn’t force him to wear something I wanted.  He had to like and be comfortable in it.

I pretty much picked it out, but kept asking to make sure he liked it.  He’s one of those guys who has no idea how to dress and doesn’t realize that his golf shirts aren’t super nice button downs lol.

He’s picking out the suit himself – I helped him pick out his tie.  I want to be surprised!

I left it up to him to pick it out.  My Fiance has amazing tastes when it comes to fashion though so I knew he would pick out something that worked perfectly.  I’m sorry you’re going through this.  It’s a really sensitive subject.  Have you talked to him about it at all?

If he really wanted to decide on his own i would have let him.  I mean I would have liked to see it ahead of time, but I also showed him what I was thinking before I confirmed with the bridesmaids too.  However he wanted my help so we went together.

I picked out his outfit, but he was free to change any part of it he wanted.  He liked what I picked, so it wasn’t an issue.

He would have been happy to have me totally pick it out.  I sent him, his brother, and my dad to the tux shop with instructions to pick out a black tux.  They did good.  He tried to make me pick between two at the end, and I honestly would have picked the other one, but I’m glad he picked the one he liked better (it had subtle pinstripes).

I dress him on a regular basis, but he is getting better about knowing what matches.  🙂

He didnt care, I went with him to the store and picked everything out with him.  He just wore a basic tux from mens wearhouse, I picked all the vest/tie colors.  The only input he has was that he wanted everyone in ties, not bowties.

I think if you want him in a regular suit you should just talk to him about it.  But if he’s proud of his service and wants to wear the Army formals, I’d let it go and let him.  Can he wear that for the ceremony maybe and then change into the suit for some formal pictures or vice versa?

I thought he’d want me to pick it out, but I was wrong.  He wanted to wear a suit with some shirt he already had and a tie he already had.  He ended up getting a suit (the color I picked out, he agreed it loooked great) but I wanted him to wear a white shirt.  I won that argument, but he would have preferred to wear a blue shirt.  He’s picking out the tie, but I”m asking that it’s blue (which is the color he would have chosen anyway)… So kind of both, but I get the ultimate say.  I’m not proud of this, but I really want the wedding ot have a specific look!!

I left it up to him but then he gave it right back to me and told me to choose lol So in the end I told him what I liked and he liked it also so we went with what we both liked.

I went with Darling Husband to pick out his and the groomsmen’s tuxes.  I gave my thoughts and input but Darling Husband made the final call because it was his outfit.

I did all the picking-out.  He wanted something kinda ugly (by ugly I mean Halloween-esque) and with the help of the saleman at the tuxedo shop, we steered him into something classic and attractive.  But I’m not sure what I’d do in your situation–he may feel like it is dishonorable to not wear his uniform.  And a man in uniform looks great, even if he doesn’t match the rest of the wedding!  If it’s really important to you, maybe you can sit down with him and talk it out–get a feeling for how big a deal it is to him.  If it’s imperative to him that he wears the uniform, I’d just let him.
