Help! I just bought this gown in white, and want to bling it out! lol.. Looking to ask a seamstress to add swarski, rhinestone type crystals along with silver beads to the threading of my gown. Should I do it to all the threading or just some?? Really love the over the top look. All the crystals on the gown currently are clear and don’t catch the light…

I think that since it is so structured adding too much bling would kill the look. Maybe add to the threading only, and a little to the lace at top and bottom.

I don’t think this dress needs anything more than what it already has. If you add too much "bling" it’s going to look gaughty.

You can string on little ones of the AB crystlas. Or even the sequins. Mine has sequins which sounds super icky but they’re subtle bling. Originally i had told my mom i wanted more bling andw atned to add more. Now that a few months has gone by, i’ve decided that with my jewelry, hairpiece, etc, i got enough going on. I want peopel looking at ME sparkling, not my dress necessarily. I think your gown has a lot going on, but if you were going to add some, I’d place it carefully and i’d use specific AB crystals.

tag117 is right. adding more than what’s happening now will make it very easy to look gaudy.

I am ALL about the bling!! Bring it on! I want a dress that catches the light and looks GORGEOUS when I walk down the aisle! I love the AB crystals. I am a swarovski crystal freak! 🙂 I think some more sparkle will look great!
I love your dress!! It’s beautiful!

There is no option for leave it alone, but that’s my vote. It’s already very pretty, why risk making it too much and regret it?

Thank you for all your responses and input! Yes, I know it will be over the top, but that is what I am going for which is why I picked this particular style of dress. I will be going to a wedding dress designer for a consultation as soon as I get it to make sure it all flows well and does not look gaudy, it will be professionaly done.
It will be coming in white, which I’m anticipating the crystals on the threading I want to add will look better to catch the light. This color on the dress posted is called seashell and I agree would not look good with to many crystals.
The gown is a Alfred Angelo Sapphire Style 812 Spring 2009 collection
Here are some pics in white I found on brides.com and for the back of dress…
The picture in the bottom is the type of crystal I will use, obviously much smaller that will match the size of the threading
Thank u for all the compliments!

I would replace just some of the crystals, the ones that go over the embroidered parts.

I know, I know!! Hollie we are definately bling fanatics..Lol
Chelseamorning…I agree about doing it over the embroidery only that is what I meant by doing the crystals over the threading..I guess it got lost in translation!
