Theres no guidelines for how much a bride needs to spend on the gifts, it’s all personal preference. I’ve heard of brides giving each of her girls and nice framed picture of the two of them as well as a heartfelt note which probably cost under $10. Then on the other hand you’ll have your brides who spend hundreds on designer whatevers for theirs bridesmaids.

For me personally, I’ve given myself a budget of $100 for each of my girls but thankfully I only have 3. If I had 7 (or possibly 8) like you, I’d probably have to knock that down to well under $50 p/person.

I have 7 bridesmaids and I spent $18 on each one. That’s how much I have in my budget for them, and I finally found something within my range that was nice. Sure I would like to treat them to all kinds of things, but I just can’t afford it. And they are excited about being in my wedding, and my thank-you to them is sufficient IMO. They will love their presents!

I just talked to the groom about this and we decided to go with $100 for each- it will include their wedding jewelry (earings, necklace and a ring), a wedding bag, bath and body works stuff, a bridesmaids shirt and maybe a clutch. BUT we only have 2 Bridesmaids. One will be coming from Italy to be in my wedding and the other from Mississippi. The wedding is in Florida. They will be staying with us at my Moms house and I will be feeding them and probably also getting their nails done or a spa day or something. I figure they are coming a LONG way to be in my wedding so I better make them feel VERY appreciated lol.

I’m spending about $100/girl but I only have 4 bridesmaids. If I had 8 it would be the same budget, just divided among them.

@RahlyRah: I have 6 bridesmaids and my budget is $20 dollars for each. I already got them a super nice satin robe that I got on sale at JC Penny (I paid 6 dollars from $45 regular price). I still have some money to spare, so I may get them an inexpensive necklace or earrings.

i have 4 bridesmaids and i am buying them a really pretty mirror compact for £10 ($15) each.  but thats because here in UK,  we buy their dresses, shoes and wedding day jewellery for them too,  so each bridesmaids will cost approx  £200 approx….( $300)  .the mirror compact is really just a token ‘thank you’ gift.   if i didnt buy their dress and everything else,  i would have paid more for their gifts.

I’m having 8 girls and I’m spending $100+ on their gifts. It all depends on your budget.

You have to decide what you can reasonably afford without breaking the bank. Everyone has their own idea of what is acceptable and what someone else may think you should spend may not be feasible at all with your budget.

I feel kind of strangely bad, cuz I have 5 BMs, and I’ve been in the weddings of 2 of them, and I know that their gifts to me were like $10 (we were all like right out of college,) but now we’re all more established, and I WANT to give them a nicer gift that’s more like $50-100, but I honestly don’t want to make them feel bad for not having been able to give me a nicer gift! (but I truly don’t mind. except, well, both of them also made us pay for getting our HAIR done, which I’m not doing, lol!)

I have 4 BMs and I spent $15 each on the earrings I wanted them to wear for the wedding.  I figured that would be easier than trying to make them all like the same thing.

I have 3 bridesmaid.  I paid for their shoes and most likely will pay for their jewelry (or let them wear their own).  As far as the actual gift, I’ll spend less than $20 on each girl.  Will probably get them a personalized tote bag and maybe a picture frame.

7 is a lot.  Maybe you do cheap picture frames?  Sorry I’m not a bigger help!

I have three bridesmaids.. I bought them each a necklace for 18$ and a tiny $25 gift set from bath and body works so I guess I spent under $50 on each. However I am also paying for their hair and makeup to be professionally done, and I will be picking up the cost of manis and pedis the day of the wedding. Oh and I also bought their dresses.

Important to note though that my bridesmaids are all flying here and are paying for their own accomodations so I tried to take as much of the financial burden off of them as possible cause I feel bad =(
