Our Destination Wedding is at a B&B in Kentucky. We’re having our ceremony the first day, almost immediately when we get there. Then were taking our party out for dinner (8 of us total) that night. The next day we’re renting a limo to tour distilleries along the bourbon trail, then grilling on the patio at the B&B for dinner that night. We’re spending 1 night at a hotel on the way before and 1 night after. The hotel nights and the B&B nights are already paid for. We’ll be coming up with money for dinner after the ceremony, the distillery tours and limo, and the dinner on the patio (plus officiante tip, driver tip, etc.). Originally I was thinking of having $4000 on hand. But now I’m thinking I might want to save up a little more.
How much extra $$ are you taking on your Destination Wedding to feel comfortable?

We had ours at an all-inclusive and everything was paid for ahead of time so we didn’t need as much spending money. I think with excursions and souveniers we spend only like $300-400.
I think we brought like $200 in cash but used mostly cards.

A few thousand I’m thinking somewhere between $2k and $5k. We want to do a lot of activities and they are costly! We have a little one so we would need $$ for 3 people. Tax there is 13% I believe with set gratuities at 21% I think, so eating alone will cost a fortune.

@Broken Biscuit: That’s what I’m thinking too. Just feeding 8 people is going to cost us. And we’re also driving 2 luxury class cars about 13 hours each way. One for the guys, one for the girls. Gas is going to kill us.

@NewMrsAnderson: Which distilleries are you going to? ( I just moved to MS from Lexington, KY) The Woodfod Reserve is SO pretty. We went last summer for a company tour. Buffalo Trace is bigger and such a good place for pics!!
But to answer your question..I think we may take 2,000. Everything is already paid for (beach cottage/catering/venue) and we are going to Sanibel Island so there isn’t so much to DO. So it’s mostly for dinners and souvenirs.

@MississippiQueen: Our B&B is making the limo tour reservation, so I’m not sure which distilleries we’re visiting. We’re going to Maple Hill Manor B&B and it is just about an hour away from Lexington. It has amazing reviews, so you should check it out if you ever get a chance. It is also a llama and alpaca farm, which is what caught our eye. Now we driving all the way from Nebraska to stay there! We do like Woodford Reserve Bourbon, so I bet that is one we’ll be sure to hit. Thanks for the tips on Buffalo Trace too!

We are only planning on taking $500 in cash with us… But we are paying for everything and booking everything before we go that we plan on doing… The $500 will be for dinners and what ever else we want extra…
