We are doing our reception BBQ/picnic style under a tent in our backyard. We don’t have any vegetarians, and we’ll be serving the food buffet-style at approx 1:30-2:00 pm, if this makes a difference as to how much people will be eating.
We’ve decided to serve thin-sliced chicken breasts, eye of round steaks, and bbq shrimp skewers. My question is, how many of each? I know some people will eat more than one choice (or even all 3!) and some people will simply stick with chicken. I’m assuming we’ll be using 2x as much chicken as steak, and people will probably add on the shrimp as an appetizer??
In addition to the meats, we will also have out a fruit platter, chips & dip, rolls & butter, pasta salad, broccolli salad, and a garden salad with dressings.
In lieu of a cake, we have chosen to go with cupcakes, and since we have 2 flavors, we will have enough for each person to have one of each. There won’t be any alcohol and for beverages we will just be serving pitchers of drink mix (like crystal light).
Any advice bees?? I could really use help deciding how much meat to buy! And if anyone knows how much pasta salad to make, that would be a big help too!!
