At one point I would have said 5+ hours, though most of the time it was mostly background noise. Now I only even turn it on maybe 3 times a week.

@happilyeveraftergirl:  i watch very little TV. we cancelled our cable because i think its a waste of money, so now we have netflix. i normally watch max one hour per night if i get completely bored and can’t find anything else to do.

None. I hate watching TV. And I find using it as background noise very unnerving. I can’t relax at all with the TV on. About twice a month we will watch a movie on Netflix or amazon.

We dont have cable. And my kids aren’t allowed to watch TV when I’m home. I am sure they watch it when I’m not though. And my son watches football with DH.

I honestly don’t understand how people have time to watch TV.   Granted, I have kids. And they take up a lot of my time.   But even on the nights they are at their dads house, we still never seem to find time to watch TV.

I picked 5+ hours but that is only because that is usually how long I have the tv on. It is usually background noise and every so often something will catch my ears and I turn to watch.

@jadlnc:  Series Whores. I love it.

That’s exactly like us. Right now we’re marathonning Law and Order, and How I Met Your Mother. We’ve marathonned Arrested Development, Supernatural, Scrubs, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, Parks and Recreation, Community…etc. We do other things in between. I set up our Christmas tree, wrote Christmas cards, paid bills and other stuff while the TV was on.

We don’t have cable TV – mindless surfing is a waste of time/money. We pick specific shows to watch together, generally free stuff on PBS/Hulu but sometimes we’ll purchase a series.

We love TV, and we aren’t ashamed.

We actually just got a new 50” TV for Black Friday, and last Black Friday we got a 60” TV 🙂

We work fulltime and go to school fulltime, so we don’t have a lot of extra time on our hands, but we probably watch 2-4hrs a day, depending on the day.

Tv is on quite a bit around here…

BUT we both don’t like “mainstream” Tv

We watch a lot of specialty channels…

News – The BBC – Ntl Geographic – HBO – Movie Networks

Mr TTR also enjoys Sports & SciFi

Rarely watch regular Tv any more… rarely miss it, unless someone is talking about a particular show that is getting a lot of press / following

There are some really good shows out there but I don’t have a lot of time to watch them, and I don’t like background noise, so I usually forget to turn on the TV and end up missing the show. So pretty much all the TV shows I watch are through Netflix binges.
