How many people are you including with these photos?  Is it just you and Fiance, your wedding party, extended family etc?

The more people = the more time you’ll need.

And – for the 2-3 locations – what are the locations like?  ie: lots of walking around, walking from the parking, possible issues finding parking, etc?

With the kids, expect huge delays. Ask your photographer, but also remember that backgrounds are not important, actually, lighting is.

Remember that very, very few bridal party photos make it to an album. I have ten in my personal album that feature ‘maids or ‘men, that’s it.

Are they all taking their own vehicles or do you have a limo? Will the bridal party be drinking alcohol?

Account for weather. Will it be really cold in Minnesota at that time? Account for people’s temperments. Remember that most children, pregnant women, and even the men will not generally enjoy doing a shoot for hours as models.

If the ceremony is at 4:30, you just work backwards.

12-1: Bride prep and details shots, bride getting dressed

1-2: Bride, bridesmaids, and immediate family photos at Location 1, then travel to Location 2

2-3: Groom, groomsmen, and groom’s immediate family photos at Location 2, then travel to Location 3

3-4-Bride and groom alone, first look, bride and groom with whole bridal party (Location 3), travel to ceremony

4-4::30-Arrive for ceremony and be hidden away, groomsmen do seating

4:30-Ceremony

etc.
