How big a priority is photography for you?  How much of the story of your day do you want to be told?

We only booked for 2 hours. But our wedding is so simple and small that it made sense. We won’t be doing any of the normal wedding stuff (dancing, cake cutting, speeches, etc).

But it all depends on what you want. Do you want pictures of you and the bridal party getting ready? Do you want pics of dancing, cake cutting, etc?

I would say as long as you could afford them for. Ours came to the hotel at 3, to take pics getting ready. Ceremony was at 5, reception at 6:30… she left at 10 and I wish I had just paid for the whole night (until midnight) It goes by so fast the pictures help you remember it all!
